in the GOG version this non optional puzzle was broken due to CPU speed compatibility and the only chance to continue was to search and find an 18 years old save file...
does it works with this version?

though it's still mildly difficult,. you just have to keep clicking after nodding

You could still beat the bell puzzle in the broken version, it was just very hard

After David nodds you need to wait like half a second before doing the rest of the combo. It's aids but you can do it

Since all other interacting stuff in the game is automatically (like handling the Telescope, using the Valve Spanner, using the scroll to make another set of stairs or destroying the 4 Canisters in Silvers Palace) how about doing this automatically too after you bought the combination in the tavern? There would be still the puzzle to find the guy with the combination and after that finding the bell.

yeah, just removing the puzzle would be best. I still have the old save files from my old games from the game disc, but I bought it on steam, to not have to fix anything anymore.

The timing on those is very, very, VERY precise. I believe its due to the PC speed on modern systems.

You only have like 0.3-0.5 seconds to "pause" between the gongs. so do 3 - pause - 2 - pause - 1 (after 3 and 2, your active character will nod so you can see you did it right).

Good luck on this one. Its literally the worst thing about the game.

How do you wait 0.5 seconds? I tried to keep ringing, and also waiting, - only making the character nod for the first 3 rings. Dont remember it was this hard when I had the game some 20 years ago. Are the developers looking at this?

This is the right one. After the first 3 gongs, David nodds, before he finish nodding, you have to begin with the next 2 gongs, the same with the final gong
