Once you have the device out, and the signal starts going up, you have to pixel hunt until the screams appear. When the screams/shouts become very loud and the gauge is almost maxed out, stand still and wait for a collection prompt to appear.
It's extremely frustrating because evp doesn't seem have a collection radius, you can literally only find it facing a certain direction with the mic out, even when you are standing on top of it. You have screams in one spot, but one inch away you get no signal at all. Whats worse is that doors and objects affect it now. I got no signal after closing a door where there is an evp on the other side.
When hunting for sounds obviously you have to stand on the tendrils as some sort of ley line to the spirit world, but with the added range of the better mic its way easier to get a bearing on the spots (same with the upgraded EMF detector) once you zero in its just a matter of holding still a sec for the prompt to appear.
I'll admit I still prefer the old way of hunting for clues, but I have a feeling we'll get some sort of hybrid of the two styles eventually. Oh as a side tip if you want ez damage grab an smg and slap both of the crit chance mods on it and let loose, after 40 hours I was almost aghast how easy it was.
I usually brushed aside the crit chance mods because it always seemed like a small upgrade, but not gonna lie, I'll give it a try as I'm currently using the first MP5, saving up for the AK and the full auto pistol.
