"Grease Gun" is a nick name that took over that gun's identifier irl. I highly doubt the greaser from WW2 is trademarked. Even if it is somehow a trademark when in combination with the firearm's image, then just choose a different name. It is offsetting enough to be mistaken as a graphical error. This is a minor polish complaint for sure, but a complaint none the less. Not exactly something to put in a final product.
This game has an overall investigative style from head to toe. That kind of style speaks technicality to me. And small tweeks into feeding the beast of details, only aid in selling the product. Another small nomenclature complaint that always gets under my skin is the use of the word clip. None of these firearms supports a clip. Magazines all around with the exception of revolvers, but I could argue that cylinders pretty much act as magazine wells. Small complaints for sure, but small details go a long way.
Dude, just play the game an enjoy it for what it is. The devs are a two man team, and the game is still in early access. What you're complaining about are minor issues. There was someone else in a different thread throwing an SJW tantrum about gender in the game. It's just a game.
How are my complaints not constructive criticism? People do not seem to understand what that is anymore. Any time you put anything out into the public sphere it is subject to criticism. I being a customer, and also someone who is appreciative of the art that these Devs are selling have every right to speak my mind. In fact if the Devs do not at least listen to the constructive criticisms from their customers, they are foolish. Feedback is how artwork, games, or literally anything is refined into golden products. Taking other opinions into account has and will always be paramount to creating. The Devs have every right to completely disregard my arguments. They are the ones making the game after all. However, I felt that these small arguments I've made for immersion's sake were sound ones to bring to their attention.
What ever the crazy-pants person is complaining about has nothing to do with my comments. If the creative direction of the game is for the protagonist to be male that is the Devs decision. However, if that is the case then perhaps it might be wise to say so, at least that will get the speculation out of the way.
Firstly, calm down, I wasn't attacking you. Second, all I'm saying is enjoy the game as it is because it's still in development and is likely to change. Third, the other person I referred to relates to your comment because both of you are complaining about a game that is still in development; cosmetic features are a low priority compared to actual gameplay features, bug fixes and optimisation. Fourth, the other guy went to full SJW mode in a heartbeat; even if the devs did discuss it openly the SJW would still have lost his ♥♥♥♥ because that's what SJWs do. Fifth, calm down, it's just a game. Go kill some monsters, mate. It's more fun than ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥' and moanin'.
Once again you do not seem to understand what constructive criticism is. Nobody is mad. I am not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and moaning, I am providing feedback. Which, as I've said is critical to development of any product, especially an early access game.
Sarcastic rhetorical question which is more of a complaint. Neither constructive nor destructive, really.
And I'm referring to you getting upset when I told you to calm down. So.... calm down and stop wasting my bandwidth.
Guess you didn't bother to read my argument as to why I asked that question. It is not sarcastic and it is not rhetorical. Stop trying to infer things that are clearly not there. You seem to want to find offence into thing that do not exist. You are worse the SJWs you pretend to hate.
You argument was in response to my response to your inititial question. That's not an inference. It blatantly obvious. And I don't PRETEND to hate SJWs. I DO hate them. WTF are you on about? And how am I worse? Because you took it personally when I pointed out that you're overthinking things? Get over yourself.
The only one seemingly offended here is you. My arguments were for minor immersion tweeks to a game that is still in early access. You seem to think by me simply making suggestions I am somehow mad or whining over an incomplete product. I am adding my perspective in a constructive manner, a manner in which you seem to be blatantly oblivious to. You are trying to find outrage where there is none. You are a walking bag of hypocrisy because you clearly have become what you hate. Overthinking is apart of the creative process with regards to my initial points. The overthinking you are trying to claim I have is non-existent on my part, and in fact you are overthinking yourself. I'll state again, there has been no anger nor has there been any rhetorical questions in my critiques, you are imagining these things in my text because that is what you want to see. Here's a piece of life advice for you, take everything with a grain of salt, or you'll bury yourself.
They probably could rename the in-game grease gun to something more evocative of the tec 9, sure. But the Gustav '86's name is fine.
Very similar looking firearms, those two. If that is the case (and It seems like it is), it puzzles me even further at their choice for naming the Tec-9,"Grease Gun."
