Anyone ever beat a poltergeist?
I'm sure someone has, because for me personally it's impossible. No matter how much i prepare, read and collect all the signs, i always get the short end of the stick. Either i get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by critters that drain my health so fast that i don't have anything left after collecting everything. I tried different tactics by switching between shot- and machineguns but alas no success.

Am i missing something? Even using all the suggested gear and setting up traps (EMP, Gas canister, ammotype, gear etc) after getting the signs barely helps. So far i tried to fight kelpies and Banschee's but both seem to be unbeatable... I only once manage to drain a poltergeist down to 50% of health. The environment you have to fight to makes it even worse, with all the ♥♥♥♥ laying around for you to get stuck on while trying to dodge desperately. Fighting outside doesn't work either because it conveniently drains your health...

So yeah, if someone can give me some pointers or tips, i'd be glad, because so far, i'm about to give up on this game entirely... Everytime you'd think you are lucky with the random map generator you either get diddled by portrait tentacles, bumrushed by ghouls (which sometiems just trigger two beartraps at once) or aboslutely raped by shadowbeast (outside shadowdimension)

Thanks in advance.

Hopefully you know once you put 2 signs for a weakness those 2 signs will start to glow, then you can click on one of them to activate it's advantages like resistance to damage or crit chance etc.

Banshee, don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about it's minions, keep firing at the banshee while dodging it's telegraphed attacks. Crit signs are really good, or Resistance if you can't tank minions.

Kelpi, 2 fast charges then a long wind-up charge, delay your dodge for the last charge, shotguns work pretty well. Evasion signs are optimal, but crit works better if you can dodge.

Shadow, 2 Attacks then it'll drop a pool of shadow essence, get out of it as soon as you can, i think there can only be 2 pools at once, not entirely sure. UV works, shotguns are probably nice.
You're gonna need atleast 1-2 evasion signs active and atleast 1 crit sign.
This prick usually comes from behind.

Best possible gear? You mean the stuff that is not "Out of stock"? Then yes. Best stuff money can buy...

(thanks, Google-translator :D )
1. Collect all the Clues and carefully decipher. The first 2 will give the opportunity to call on Poltergeist. The second two will determine the type. The third and fourth pair will give a strong advantage.
2. Wear the necessary things (Banshee - headphones, Kelpi - rubber boots, Shadow - a night vision device).
3. Put improvements on armor and weapons, which are described in the book for a particular type of Poltergeist (Spectral, Plasma, Vampiric, etc.).
4. Charge the necessary ammunition (Banshee - silver, Kelpi - incendiary, Shadow - ultraviolet).
5. Tune the traps and put around the intended place of call (Banshee - EM-mine, Kelpi - gas cylinders, Shadow - spotlights).
6. Shoot, dodge in time and use syringes if necessary. Do not run out into the street, certain death.
I conquered Kelpi and Shadow.

Oh, and use SMG.

I recommend nightvision for the shadows, they are harder to spot without it.

Finally...
I beat a shadow...
Huh... Probably the easiest to beat out of all three...
Also he actually glitched under the floor but it resolved itself.

Thanks for helping everyone.

Ironically Shadow has to be the hardest one out of all of em :microraptor:

Banshee being the easiest.

Not truly "Hard" they all die easily but shadow takes longer than others.
