Any tips for the Blacklight?
Sometimes it seems like the clues are pretty far away from any blood splatter or the glowing words that show up in the blacklight. Am I missing something or do I just search every object that is even remotely close to the blood/glowing word trail?

I've seen blacklight clues nowhere near blood, it seems to be wherever.

In every room i just dispatch any baddies in there and then toggle on the EMF, sound and backlight around the room quickly and it seems to work well enough.

This is how i did it, kick a door in, kill/dodge etc. investigate.

So you basically check EVERYTHING with the blacklight then?

there doesnt seem to be any logic behind the blacklight thing, unless i am misunderstanding it. I just randomly check every object - seems like others got stuck on this too .

Yea but only a quick sweep through each room. I dont go round every corner looking for blood or anything.

The tracks always start at a corpse, and end pointing at the object you need to interact with

I didn't have the patience this morning to even complete the tutorial. :steamfacepalm: I just felt like the couple various scan gizmos (including blacklight) were so confusing -- like using a water divining rod -- and arbitrary and the meter static noise was so ear splitting I had to turn the audio down or remove my headphones.

I think if I get far enough to focus more on shooting everything in sight, I'll be happier. :steamhappy:

Honestly, the blacklight wasn't that intuitive at first, but after a few tries, it started making sense...
There is a trail, sometimes it is disrupted (dude put a hand on bleeding or something) and then you pick it up if you continue in same direction as before...
If there is no more blood, then go to last place you saw blood and click adjacent items, this have worked flawlessly for me so far

Definitely going to try that out next time I play, thanks!

Yes blacklight is logical, starts at corpse (keep your eyes peeled for bloody trails) and ends roughly at area of clue.

However the dynamic generation algorithm is quite heavy and is known to hug walls sometimes until we upgrade it. (quite a bit of work)

Feel free to also post this in bug section, so it can have its own discussion ;)

Glad to hear you'll be taking a look at it to have it be more consistent!

The trails sometime get blocked by the debris as well. I had a fallen book shelf that cut off the trail and only got a tip of the white trail at the other end of it I barely caught. At lower resolutions (windowed) it is hard to see the trail as well. But I did get it after restarting a few times.

Is that why I'll hear my EMF going nutty on both sides of a wall but then clicked on everything and nada?

To my knowledge, black light clues do not cross with EMF (i.e. they don't generate EMF signals nor do black light stains lead to EMF related clues etc.)

Also I found an interesting issue in the tutorial. Not fatal but I had 2 black light paths cross over one another so it went in a continuous line. I got it eventually but it definitely was a head scratcher.
