Yes agreed the 2nd skill is weak, good catch1
But we're thinking lessening the dodge penalty isn't very interesting as this armor isn't really about dodging, so we might change to something entirely different when the time comes ;)
Regarding the 1st armor having less dodge penalty, it's an interesting idea, however the reason we put it like this is so people know exactly what they're getting into, rather than 5-10hr later and regret the decision.
You can dodge with the heavy armor if you time it right before the attack connects, but yes it's not made for dodging multiple enemies, that's what the extra stability is for.
In general I was most worried about the moment with the second heavy armor skill. Since there was a feeling that 1 skill point was wasted...
There is really no great need to reduce penalties. The existing experience in game has allowed me to quickly accumulate the necessary amount of money and buy enough expensive equipment to make sure that heavy armor coupled with armored accessories allows me to practically forget about dodging and focus on accurate shooting.
The idea that the penalty for starting heavy armor was too big was due mainly to personal feelings - 30 hours of the game by the hunter in light armor with shotguns. There were many difficulties, but I dealt with all of them, defeated all the poltergeists and cemented the success by repeatedly fulfilling the hunting contracts. After that I decide to try out heavy armor build with smg and after a couple of the simplest contracts my thoughts were - it is useless ... The game itself is quite challenging and not for everyone. And I just tried to reason from the perspective of a beginner who is completely unfamiliar with the game and the overall impression was more negative.
However with the purchase of more expensive equipment my opinion about heavy armor gradually changed to a more favorable one. Now I am more than happy with it.
Moreover this build turned out to be much more tenacious, my hunter died only twice - at the beginning of the game and in a collision with his first poltergeist which was Banshee - 0 experience in using SMG against her + simultaneous activation of several EMP traps + screen distortion and as a result getting stuck in the wreckage of a table in the middle of the corridor did their dirty deed =)
I want to thank you for such an original game. I was very pleased that this is not just another gun and run shooter where you simply destroy endless hordes of monsters, but are forced to carefully monitor the situation and demonstrate maximum accuracy in all your actions. This is exactly the game in which everything paranormal is REALLY deadly and not just a beautiful decoration for a carefree pastime.
