For Japanese players who have had access to the game since the early '90s, the ability to clear the game prior to the final generation was a sort of holy grail. In fact, I'm not entirely certain it was developer-intended at the time. Almost like a fan-discovered sequence break.
And, given the SaGa franchise's provenance for being "out there" and allowing absurd non-linear possibilities, I think this achievement is a way of celebrating that. I'm glad it exists.
Yeah I guess so. People say it's actually a bug and it makes sense. Now I admit it after more playthroughs it could be a fun achievement to figure out. Just if they had only final emperor challenge as well which I'm interested in trying (finish the entire game with only final emperor team).
