Theres no loot system in this game?
What is this? 2 steps forward with the first two games and one massive step backwards? Why can't we get loot drops with different armors?

Yeah, instead of giving you 50 different armor pieces that you use for 5 mins and then toss, they are letting you upgrade a single piece and make it fit your playstyle. I mean, c'mon darksiders, what gives, I need more crap to sort through and throw out!!!!

Thats why its called a loot system, and you've clearly not played the 2nd game, because I was holding onto armor that I found well past 5 min and some cases hours depending on the tier. Regardless what you think, its still a step back from customization.

If this is the case then I am glad they have done this. Whilst DS2 was and is a great game there was no need for all the amour/weapons. It just took up too much time sorting it all out etc.

Going back to DS1 style is a better option in my opinion. They may even give us some new armour in the future, who knows, but personally I am happy with this system.

Then why are you trying to BS about the loot system? it isn't a case of you discarding loot constantly, there are times where you hold onto the same gear for entire sections of the game, which is what you do with most loot system games, if your trying to discredit what I'm saying you're doing it at a gradeschool level, in all honestly my point is valid, DS3 gear system is a step back from DS2

Why did you hold onto multiple armor sets in Darksiders 2? I had best in slot for necro with a necro build and never felt the need to hold onto anything else. Also, as soon as I hit the next level, all of my lower level gear became worthless compared to the new drops.

Fashion, better stats, its not like high tier gear was dropping from the sky every 5 min...least not for me.

My typical gameplay session in Darksiders 2 was kill, pick up loot, compare loot to equipped slot, is it better, if so equip, if not trash. I don't play games for fashion, so never considered that. Loot drops were common enough that if I stopped to compare after every drop, I'd be in menus every minute and once I got to end game, 99% of what dropped was useless. Just ended up slowing me down for no reason. Darksiders 2 was such a fantastic game and most of it's fun wasn't found on the menu screens. The less reason a game gives me to open menus, the better imo.

That's a shame... I really liked the DS2 loot system. It reminded me of JRPGs I grew up with. I may have to reconsider now about this game.

Its so strange that a lot of people didnt like it. Personally I love darksiders 2 more than first one. But that just me

I loved them both and am looking forward to DS3 but all then time I spend meesing around upgrading and changing weaps etc in DS2 kinda took away from the experience for me.

i rather have a unique armour treasure find, than diablo style loot system.
This is a step in the right direction imo.

I hated it, and it's not that strange.

In DS1 you have individually crafted weapons with unique looks, balanced stats and meticulous placements. The items felt unique.

In DS2 it was just a trash pile of beautiful weapons and armors with random stats thrown onto them by a generator. It's soulless. But I understand that it appeals to those who like Diablo-esque loot systems, nothing wrong with that.
But it's not surprising that to many it felt like a huge step back.
