They kept up with the story for the most part and it is still and "ok" game but not a true Darksiders game,,again in MY opinion...
Anywhere you go you are fighting for survival basically, and they changed the combat, and when you die you lose all the souls you were carrying and haved to fight your way ALL the way back to where you died to retrieve them.
There is no casual exploring or riding anywhere or time for any real enjoyment. It's just constant fighting really.
No real side mission as such, just hunt down the sins mainly and not a lot in the way of story apart from connecting it to the first 2 games.
Personally, as a huge fan of the the first two games, I was/am extremely disappointed with this one.
Everything you said was removed was the best parts.
I could not agree more... The first two were enjoyable, simple as that. This 3rd one is not. There is no time to "enjoy" it cuz you are fighting for your life at every turn. I love the francise but do NOT like what they did with one...
Darksiders 3 is more similar to the first one, with minimal loot and sidequests. It's a more straightfoward action-adventure game and less a RPG. So you might like it.
But it's harder than Darksiders 1, so if you don't like a challenge, maybe it's not for you. It's not so tough as people complain in the reviews, but it is still a challenge. I'm used to harder games, so I never got frustated and even enjoyed the harder combat system. And since I've played the game they even put an alternative combat system closer to the previous games.
So,TLDR, it's a good game if you don't mind a challenge.
I have both versions of the first 2 games and have played thru them many times and was sooo looking forward to Darksiders 3, it's just a shame they changed it so much.
I don't know what your talking about... Not much was changed from 1 to 2 besides the character and the loot/weapon system really. They were both great games and very enjoyable, something that Darksiders 3 will never be...
That said yes 1 and 2 were different but not to the scale 3 was.
