Is darksiders 3 like 1 or 2 in game play?
is darksiders 3 more like 1 or like 2 in gameplay?
i LOVE darksiders one, made me SUCH a huge fan. loved the gameplay, got realy the feel for the storry. was super hyped about darksiders 2, especialy since you would play as death, but the change to the game with side missions and different dialoge options and stuff, it just made me lose intrest in 2 :(
where one was hack, slash and bash your way trough enemies, solve some puzzles, fight bosses, and get awesome cutscenes, the conversations in darksiders 2 and gear drops just felt like a big nope to me.

i know allot of people where super positive about those additions but for me personaly i just didnt enjoy it.

So im wondering, does 3 have the walk around in town, go find an npc to talk to, go do side missions, get gear drops and 3 dialog options with npc's every time and stuff like that wich darksiders 2 had, or is it more like darksiders one where (to me) it felt more like an epic ride without the need of interuptions to do the awkward hey, ask question one, then go back, do question 2, etc just to have heard all the infromation the npc's have to give so you are all cought up to the storry.

I also loved the first two masterpieces of Darksiders, however 3 is not like the first two in my opinion. It is certainly dressed up to look like the first two but too much is different, and I am not even gonna start on what they did with Rampage...

They kept up with the story for the most part and it is still and "ok" game but not a true Darksiders game,,again in MY opinion...

Anywhere you go you are fighting for survival basically, and they changed the combat, and when you die you lose all the souls you were carrying and haved to fight your way ALL the way back to where you died to retrieve them.

There is no casual exploring or riding anywhere or time for any real enjoyment. It's just constant fighting really.

No real side mission as such, just hunt down the sins mainly and not a lot in the way of story apart from connecting it to the first 2 games.

Personally, as a huge fan of the the first two games, I was/am extremely disappointed with this one.

Thanks for this synopsis what a waste of code this turned out to be.. No wonder it was a flop, it deserves it when devs reinvent a wheel for no good reason they deserve to lose money.

The game is a no fluff meaty combat challenge .. there's no NPC's that give you mundane quests it's very straight forward .. the story is not hard to follow and has some cool twists ..the overall game can be played a variety of ways . you can challenge yourself and up the difficulty and try not to lvl up your character or you can pick which area of combat you want to focus on , or you can just grind it out and overpower everything it's up to you to choose what you want to do. unlike 2 there's not a huge variety of weapons just for the sake of having a collection of weapons you can upgrade your weapons and enhancements something that would have been nice in the previous games . the combat varies a lot and you can further enhance your own stats with short term enhancements that are dropped in game as crystals . so there's a ton of variation to how you an focus your combat style .. overall the game is a massive improvement over the first two.. but the puzzles and story arch are not as intense as 1 and 2

In your opinion, in mine its a massive let down and doesn't even come close to the first two.. Also if i wanted challenge i wouldn't use gaming to get it.

Everything you said was removed was the best parts.

I could not agree more... The first two were enjoyable, simple as that. This 3rd one is not. There is no time to "enjoy" it cuz you are fighting for your life at every turn. I love the francise but do NOT like what they did with one...

Good to know before I wasted my money. Will remove it from my wishlist.

Agreed glad others played 1 and 2 as well, many seem to not

Darksiders 2 is nothing like Darksiders 1.. only natural that 3 is it's own thing too. Each game is unique and have a completely different design from the previous one.

Darksiders 3 is more similar to the first one, with minimal loot and sidequests. It's a more straightfoward action-adventure game and less a RPG. So you might like it.
But it's harder than Darksiders 1, so if you don't like a challenge, maybe it's not for you. It's not so tough as people complain in the reviews, but it is still a challenge. I'm used to harder games, so I never got frustated and even enjoyed the harder combat system. And since I've played the game they even put an alternative combat system closer to the previous games.
So,TLDR, it's a good game if you don't mind a challenge.

some people seem to just want to be miserable and project it onto a game.. the game is great but it's not going to make your life any less miserable your going to have to fix that yourself.

I have both versions of the first 2 games and have played thru them many times and was sooo looking forward to Darksiders 3, it's just a shame they changed it so much.

I don't know what your talking about... Not much was changed from 1 to 2 besides the character and the loot/weapon system really. They were both great games and very enjoyable, something that Darksiders 3 will never be...

I agree me to its a massive let down, if they removed the stupid amounts of damage you take it would be a good start..

That said yes 1 and 2 were different but not to the scale 3 was.
