game not starting in full screen
So I have a 4K minitor and I play at 1080p it's set up in the options for full screen, but everytime I start it up, it just starts in a small window, I have to cycle through native and back to 1080 everytime I start the game.

I can't even get it to display in full screen at a resolution higher than 720p. When I select full screen, it just grays out the option to raise it higher than that.

this is really annoying. the game is actually pretty fun, but all these stupid issues are making it pretty bad.

anyways, the way I finally got around the issue is by changing the desktop resolution to 1080p.

I'm also having a similar issue. My monitor is 1440p, and just loading the game for the first time set at 1080p, and it's leaving a chunk of desktop in the background. Switching to 1440p or 4K just cuts off the screen, and I can't even see the whole menu.

Was really looking forward to this game, but if I can't even navigate the menus, it's a huge let down.

If the game window is positioned so that part of it is off screen - simply use Alt-Enter to make it full screen. It's also like a quick solution for other problems.

If you can't tame the game so that it would respect the last used resolution / screen settings by using the in-game menus you can edit the config manually.
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Darksiders3\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini

FullscreenMode=1
LastConfirmedFullscreenMode=1
PreferredFullscreenMode=1
----------------------------------------------
Afaik, the game is going to revert to preferred each time you load it, so if those don't match - match them, solved the problem with the game disregarding last used settings for me.

Said file also contains resolution and other settings you might need to edit manually.

Also, while I'm at it, if anyone is still unaware, Engine.ini in the same directory. If you're tired of that blurry picture the game outputs, just add these lines there:

[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=2

^^^ This amount can vary and takes fractions, 1 seems popular.
Why they left sharpening off by default and didn't include an option while it's so bloody easy I cannot understand for the life of me.

***In both cases the game must not be running while you're editing those files as they are gonna be overwritten when the game terminates***

To fix this completely in 1 minute. Right click on darksiders 3, go to properties, compatability and click change dpi settings at the bottom. Next navigate to the bottom where it says high dpi scaling override. Tick the box and set the scroll menu to application. Click ok and apply and voila, no more scaling issues.

go to the game file, `` ...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Darksiders 3 ``, right click the darksiders3.exe, click `properties`, click `compatibility` tab, at the bottom there is a box `change high dpi settings`
