@willardlb61 what i understand on the timeline (i could be wrong) is that fury timeline happens BEFORE darksiders 2.
DS3 - Fury called to deal with 7 Sins... Strife dies at the end (he has 2 guns with him).
DS2 - Death called to deal with War's action. Finding Strife's gun during his journey, restore humans, dies. His journey takes some time, but seems he was call long time after Fury (due of gun).
DS1 - 100 years after prologue... War is back, chewing enemies, found second Strife's gun. Dies again... Seventh seal is broke again, all 4 horsemen resurrected to do some serious balancing.
My guess, DS4 would be about Strife called first, in between DS1 prologue and DS3, will do some pointless quest for Council, reveal the true intention and will become Jonas at the end, right before meeting Fury.
And he gets the Strife's gun in the Forge Lands, and since Strife has his both guns at the end of Darksiders 3, we can assume Death's journey in the Forge Lands has not yet started. I don't think his even in the Veil, where the Crowfather is.
Sorry but not buying that. There is No Proof he is Imprisoned yet. Maybe if you gave us another DLC with the events of that happening it would be more believable. The old saying is [ Seeing is believeing]. And a DLC with Samael in it would be proof or something like a cut scene where Samael is fighting an unknown Demon who strips him of his power then he is shown being dragged away in chains. Why was earth even chosen to be his prison why not banish him via the TREE to some far off world if the Dark One is so afraid of his power?
I'm doubtful if we will get that issue addressed in DS4 since it wasn't explained it 2 or 3 yet by whom and when Samael got stripped of his powers and Imprisoned. A proper DLC could have explained that but well it seems there will be no more Add-ons for the current game and we should just take the word of 1 developer because they say so but without Proof, I'm not convinced. As for DS4 they better do some better storytelling this time around to address all the Unexplained mysteries. Samael, The whereabouts of Death and War during Fury's Acr and Why is Jones Strife. Did the Council send him on a mission only to Punish him by turning him human by the end of DS3 and he only had enough magic left to transform and fight to his death and the reason why his 2 guns were picked up by the makers before they escaped through the portal. There are more unexplained mysteries I just can't think of them all right now. Why where there no Legendary enhancements in DS2 or DS3. Things like that.
1). Where is shown or hinted upon in DS1/DS2 or DS3 did it ever say the Destroyer is the one who defeated him then imprisoned him if his power was equal to the Dark Prince. The ONLY one person who could have taken him on is the Dark Prince and been equally matched. It only said his power was divided up by 4 of the destroyers chosen. If the destroyer really is the one who stripped Samael of his power then that would make him a threat and far more powerful than the Dark prince himself.
2). We never got to see a fight between the destroyer or Dark prince vs Samael to prove anything along the lines of either of them stripped Sameals Power to Imprison him we just know from Darksiders 1 he was there.
3). New DLC could clear up the theories for what happened but as of right now no further DLC will be released for this current version of DS3. All we have to go by is 1 devs word telling us He is imprisoned by the events of DS3 without any evidence as proof to back up those words and I can't and will not accept it without proof. I'm sorry if I sound optimistic but if you're going to state a fact then the proof is wanted to back up the claim.
4). [Hints] By Devs claim he's imprisoned by the time DS3 took place where is the Proof of claim. since this game seems to take place during Deaths Game DS2 and before War is released to clear himself but after Strifes Mission. But we don't first encounter Samael until Wars Probation 100yrs after he started the events of the Apoclaisype.
