Game breaking bug?

So I just started playing this weekend and got to "the hollow"
After the cut scene I was dropped into an arena and fought a bunch of skeletons. Another cut scene seemed to imply that there was a non-violent option.

So I restarted the game to try again without fighting.
It played through the whole cut scene again but now I don't have anything to fight or any way to progress.

I recommend force respawing (at the bottom of game play options) as a way of resetting the world stage plus there is a vulgrim plinth very close to the arena to see if that works.

Never happened to me before, but the only "solution" I was able to find (from one user who experienced the same issue):

"Force respawn is the only fix right now. That is what I did. I finished the game. Had to force respawn about a half dozen times during the course of it."

Try using the "respawn" option at least a few times. If that doesn't work, then I suggest starting over or, if you're not up to the task, I could start over, reach that specific part and share the save file with you.

I've played through about 8 times at this point... I 'm like 99% sure that you can't do anything other than fight those skeletons

You can't i've let them beat me to death and all it did was cause me to respawn

Same bug for me. Version from GoG. Force respawn unavailable.🤷‍♂️
