Cannot unlock FPS

I go into the config file to change the fps limit and the option is not there. anyone know what i need to do?

I have the same issue. My GameUserSettings.ini file only contains the following:
[DS3.Graphics]
DisplayMode=0
VSync=1
ShadowQuality=3.000000
AntiAliasing=3.000000
ViewDistance=3.000000
TextureQuality=3.000000
PostProcessing=3.000000
EffectsQuality=3.000000
FoliageQuality=3.000000

All of the various guides to unlock the frame cap refer to sections within the .ini that I don't even have.

I am not sure if this fix is going to work for, but I just tried it and it worked for me.

1. Right click Darksiders 3 in your library and choose properties.
2. Select the Betas Tab
3. While on the Betas Tab, select to opt into "publicstaging"

This will download a 6+GB patch. I believe it is a much older build of the game. After this build installed, I checked my GameUserSettings.ini and it had all of the additional information that it was previously missing.

I am assuming that the most recent update to the game is no longer creating the additional lines in the .ini. I only just bought the game during the Summer sale and I have never owned it previously so my GameUserSettings.ini was generated today with current patch data.

I attempted to play the game, but it now says that I require an update. I am going to backup my GameUserSettings.ini just in case it gets over written.

I hope this helps, it so far is working for me.

I personally never saw any improvement from unlocking the framerate

I have it unlocked, but I have left vsync on and my desktop refresh rate is set to 100hz. It is very smooth and the combat is nice and fluid. I know that there are a lot of different discussions about higher fps and high refresh monitors, I chose the middle ground at 100hz and I find it quite enjoyable.

Well this is weird but after windows updated I went and checked the file and all of the options were there. Might check it again and see!

Gotta do this now. Add the following to the bottom of the GameUserSettings.ini:

[/script/darksiders3.darksiders3usersettings]
FrameRateLimit=

Put whatever number you want there. And that's it!

mine config file did not include the options like yours. then i played the game like a few minutes. quitted and re checked the file. there were the options this time.
