In that case after you finish divine quest and meet your deity, your chosen one can change his or her class. So if you have slave elf Chosen, he will be able to become Elf Guardian or, with high mysticism, Elf Druid. I think that will remove stat loss. Actually if you are not afraid of Event Editor it is easy to check - just go to that starting Theodore event and force it to call chosen promotion event from Volh DLC. You will immediately see if stat penalty is removed. Just don't forget to remove your event modification after that.
I think i'll actually going to try elf run soon - Elf Slave Chosen + Elf Child with Dzievanna as goddess.
Also, even if chosen promotion event does not remove penalty, you will have another promotion even in new DLC that changes Chosen in things like Dragon. That will surelly remove old racial trait.

No slave mark, you see.

"Blue orcs made just one mistake when they decided to raid Slavian village - they had thrown their anchor on the coast right next to the forest. So you grabbed nearest child of your race and ran. And ran, and ran... Thanks Dzievanna that you managed to escape!"
Current question is
1) Can pair of former slaves save Thea?
- Yes, even a rat can
2) Can child become forest guardian?
3) Can chosen one reawaken her magic and become a druid after divine quest?
4) Most important of all, can they find and destroy all blue orc settlements?
- They will surelly try. "Blue orcs must die!"

She grew up - now it is her time to help and defend her partner.
Theese were long and hard 50 turns with several restarts. Elven slave is really week. I do not advise anybody else to try elven slave + elven child pair - it is really, really hard. And definitely possible only with Dzievanna because you can not guarantee strength too.
Yet starting with elven pair is possible. I just do not advise it.
Very nice, you've given me a new goal to shoot for. I managed to get my chosen to grow up around turn 30, but she ended up as a gatherer so I'm going to give it another shot.
It was pretty dicey near the end since my pair ran out of food and I ended up having to research all three tier 2 woods for fuel.
Playing hard difficulty except with world advancement slowed to normal and 7 starting points so I could afford both characters (6 points total).
1) You do not want child to be chosen one as you can grow her to guardian or at least gatherer regardless. It is slave elf that should be a Chosen for you to have option to upgrade her to a forest guardian or even a druid after divine quest - child already grows to a good character.
2) Other than that - good luck with hard difficulty, just do not forget to edit it. Winter start from hard one is ok, however you will really need manual saving - even when you get your 7 perception on child, chance for guardian option to appear is too low. And if you want beautiful guardian for elves to reproduce, it is even harder to get. Also, 30 turns is on the lower side of growing up timer, if you want to reach level 8 before growing up and it is not winter start, you need 40+.
3) Another advice - starting crow for +1 perception (Crow's hidden gems god card) is ok, however try to get a dog. I got one from early slavian quest, but getting main slavian village nearby, befriending it and quest generated one (heretic village quest from Theodore) should allow you to buy a decent dog. Dogs with +2.8 perception are common and would reduce your restarts due to poor stat random greatly.
4) Also, craft or buy some codex with ice arrow spell - intelligence is one of the two tolerable slave elf stats, so it is her natural weapon of choice until she gets to elven island and starts picking up destiny and mysticism.
5) I personally used Dzievanna's Nature slot for mithril goat card - you do not need neither 1 point animal (week and slows you down), nor horse from "Four-legged friend", as you are already fast (both child and slave have 6 movement points). Things like camp gathering range and Mokosh's blessing are ok, however overburdening is your constant problem and mithril is good for cash and for crafting decent bow for your guardian when she grows up.
6) Next, few words in case you want to promote Chosen to a druid. When Theodore sends you to a witch house after you had cooked some food, there is quite high chance to get a cat from defeating her. I did not need it, as i lucked into getting two cats as starting gear, however this is an option. If you did not get cat there, do not forget to buy it from slavian village. Remember - you need 11 mysticism for your chosen one to stop being slave and become a druid. With Slave mark debuf it means you will need 16 mysticism. And every point matters. Including the cat. If you get cat, you will have to spend less time running around for mysticism before finishing last stage of divine quest. Thus your Chosen one will have lower level when she gets chosen advancement event - more time to get druid skills and stats. If you lucked on mysticism during early elven slave level up - take it, but do not hope to get it and do not restart for it - leveling is too random for getting mysticism that way. However do not hope on leveling druid skills to high, because you will not have that mush levels. For example, my elven slave is already level 8, and child just has grown up. When i finish divine quest Chosen one will be at least 12 - on becoming a druid/guardian the will be at least 6, so at most she will get another 8 skill choices on levels 7-21.
7) And at last - when you get your slave elf to become druid or guardian you will lose both elven slave skills - racial and bloody ones, then get normal elf racial skill and some class skill. Yes, you can get Ground Shake from becoming a druid, yes it is overpowered, but you are unlikely to level it up sufficiently as you will already have a lot other skills unless you somehow get to be druid really early. So forget about reloading to get ground shake and just craft yourself good codex. Leave Ground Shake to Nai-ysir - girl is really good at it and summoning. Also, do not level up two skills you are going to lose - it is waste of points. Getting new skills as slave however is even worse waste of points - it will worsen your level up choices when you are a druid. So try to level up other skills like master laborer.
I went with spears + skills instead of the codex since it's better to end fights before they start. It also seems like auto-resolve, even without research and at the higher difficulty level, is actually still better once you get good gear than fighting yourself since it doesn't apply the slave mark's self damage on play penalty.
So I ended up being able to get a lot of XP from bees and non-combat encounters getting my group up to level 11 before growing up, and I even managed to pick up two bottom tier ghosts.
I agree that Dzievanna is the best god for this, but Kings Feast is a better use of the nature slot than mithril goat in my opinion. Since it frees up research points and immediately lets you start reducing your weight by turning uncooked food into cooked meals, which also gives you even more food in the depths of winter.
(I'm not interested in making my chosen an elf slave, I just want to know if the elf I liberated from the pirates is doomed forever to be so horrifically crippled)
Visiting the Shadow Kin can remove the stat debuff by changing them into a shadow elf, however the elf racial is removed and replaced with a shadow kin racial that increases the power of the character during night time.
If anyone knows of other ways to get rid of the slave elf penalty then feel free to share the info. I'm sure you could change the slave elf into a werewolf or striga but I haven't tried that myself yet.
You can also make the slave elf your chosen and transform it into a mythical creature after defeating the fish god guy (I think his name is Gask or something?) but the game is pretty much over at that point.
Requirements for chosen promotion event is finishing Divine quest. Then you will always have forest guardian option. Druid option appears if you have 11 mysticism. Level is not checked in advancement event.
Currently i have reached elven island and trying to find any memory trees for slave to raise mysticism. So far with no luck - there are only ruins around.
Ocean POIs give ridiculous amounts of mysticism once you can pass the challenge. I think it’s the eastern option.
Or just give them a maxed out one ring.
