Strategic Decision with 2nd Cosmic Seed
So i finally got my second cosmic seed (didn't expect that guy to just hand it like that)
However i'm torned on what to do with it.
At first i wanted to make a second village that i can Moon Bridge to and fro with, however, i tested it beforehand and Moon Bridge doesn't teleport a village (nothing happened) even when theres 2 village, so there goes my plan of teleporting between nodes of resources and creating my summer vacation village ( i found a place with 3 T3 leather together for summer gathering).

Anyway, now i have no idea what to do with the cosmic seed. The Other Ring stat boost is very alluring but i can't deny the advantage of having buildings boost when gathering. However, at the same time having 2 village can be annoying micromanagement, especially when i wanted to get the varying food source morale boost.

So i guess my question can be summarized to: is The Other Ring utility worth not having a second village?
and when creating a second village Idol, is it possible to get masterwork quality Idol? (the chances are low without buildings and idol boost but i got mine to 14%, however no matter how much save scum i did there's no masterwork idol i got)

There isn't too much benefits to a second village atm, because you have to defend both of them and they require a decent amount of people in them to be worth.
So usually people just get the Ring.

Nothing created from cosmic seeds can be trash or masterwork. It was done to prevent failure or too much of a power spike with unique resources.

I just modded other stuff in for use of the seed, because right now the ring is basically the go-to whether you have a village or not.

If you don't mind using 3rd party mods, BuildingOverhaul add a moving mountain you can summon with cosmic seed which basically turns your main party into a mobile base.

Or you can use your second seed after building a village to get a new Chosen. (With that mod)

Huh... just started trying that mod so I honestly didn't know that. I just used my first seed for the moving mountain because I think Thea 2's nomad play style is the most interesting aspect.

I honestly feel something like BuildingOverhaul's mobile base should be in the base game.

I doubt they'll put my stuff in but ships in the upcoming update will apparently have more uses, like gathering (crafting?) at sea.
So who knows what will happen :)

eeeh yeah no thanks, that sounds pretty overpowered and unrealistic. The advantage of having buildings bonus but having it mobile sounds pretty broken

Well the whole mod is made with higher difficulty settings in mind where villages become glorified item storages. So yes, it does make the whole village aspect easier to use. It's also caps out around my expected powerlevel for upcoming higher difficulty content lategame, so especially the end/post game stuff is relatively strong compared to current endgame stuff (you would usually just have beaten the game when reaching this point though).

You also don't have to use the mobile aspect. This and the regular village building are completely separate, which is why I added the alternative to the seed there.

To each their own of course, I personally enjoy Thea the most when it becomes a slow rising power trip, where my group start out as a bunch of glorified refugees not sure if we can find our next meal and barely scraping by against rats at the start, and end the game as a group of unbeatable demi-god lead by the god's chosen.

Plus BuildingOverhaul doesn't just hand everything to the player. You need to use a Cosmic Seed to even start, you also need to research all the mobile camp (I'm just going to call it that instead of Moving Mountain since it's effectively what it is) upgrade and actually find resources to build them.

Admittedly, summoning a moving mountain sized troll as the foundation for a base is a bit silly, but I don't think it's too jarring compared to what's already in the 2 canon Thea games where you have world destroying giants sleeping underneath the earth. Although when I say I wished canon has some aspect of mobile base construction... an actual moving mountain rock troll wasn't what I had in mind.

I was thinking alone the line of some kind of equipment, like gatherer's tool and cloth from BuildingOverhaul mod, or some kind of better tents & bedrolls the player can research and craft to give slightly weaker party wide bonus than village buildings when camping.

It was a ship before that you had to move but that brought a silly amount of issues with it and was way too clunky.
I was exploring the tool aspect too but it turned out to be a nightmare for inventory management, locked down slots and had some serious difficulties in scripting. It was also not useful considering the amount of possible buildings.
It is something I'd consider for some smaller effects though. Maybe some smaller crafting station that unlocks these exploration type tools.

I'm still looking into possible improvements, like a trait card that starts you with some construction materials, visual/thematical changes etc. so any kind of feedback is welcome.
