I believe an elemental obsidian weapon was an option but don't quote me on that...
Pretty sure I've managed to get the good turmoil option with a normal weapon that has 4/5ths of the bar filled though.
I will try obsidian elemental weapon right now. Will report if I find anything.
Obsidian is one of the options but obsidian weapons can only be offered in one of the possible outcomes.
Which T3 material based weapon needed depends on which options you pick leading up to having to give the weapon. So passing or failing certain challenges and picking different options changes which T3 weapon you need. Even arriving at the same outcome but picking a single different option can change what material type you need for the weapon.
It's very complex and unless you've spent some serious time looking at the event in the event editor you have no way of knowing beforehand which weapon you need.
I guess you could start by matching colors to your domain (so mythical leather and mithrill weapon)
As far as the weapon offering I do agree it's a bit misleading in transparency what exactly Turmoil weapon offering will suffice. It's pretty early on you get this quest as well, so confusion enhanced with the progress where you are in the game when you get the quest make it worse. I remember when I tried a bunch of weapons and was like geewiz what am I missing here. I had some pretty good offerings as well that weren't accepted.
I do think some small adjustments to the text or item required, both would do justice.
