Cursed Child
So while wandering the world i came across a father who is going to kill his child because she is cursed. I saved the child as letting a child be murdered does not sit well with me from a moral standpoint even in a game. I get cursed but it is cured soon after and the child joins the village. A few turns later one of my companion animals dies and the other animals do not like the child. Game asks me if i want to murder the child again. Once again no i don't want to murder kids in my games.
Well hopefully this child will grow up soon and it wont be a problem. A few more turns and one of my best characters dies, no chance to save no warning just "to bad so sad" say goodbye to Mr level 15 crafter. Only option is to now kill the child or hope it stops when she grows up.
Once again a morally bankrupt option.
I have been cursed by gods, elemental beings ,demons and all sorts of oddities and been able to figure it out, be given an option, or face a challenge but not even an opportunity to figure out what’s going on, just risk loosing more people or murder a kid.
Has anyone had this encounter and figured out what to do?

It depends on RNG, basically you get a bunch of random negative events (food spoil, pet or people death etc) until she grows up, after that you get a witch, provided you havent killed her. I think she also gets some curse or debuff to go with a class, but I dont remember which one exactly.
Still probably worth it, especially if don’t have a witch in your party by then

Just let her grow up and it ends. You had some harsh luck. I've only ever lost food about every 2-3 turns. It's possible keeping a lot of food on hand prevents some of the more terrible events like someone dying. Or you might have just been unlucky.

That's basically Thea, in a nutshell.

I made the same choice. The only really annoying thing was the curse. Took some time to get rid of it. Nothing worse happened luckily.
She grew up to be a respectable witch and even broke the curse for some of my people she caused as a child.

First time I saved her and all I lost was food now and then until she grew up. Perhaps having lot of food (which I always have in village) makes the losing food event more likely.

My current run party was not strong enough to face villagers, so I let them kill her. She joined me as quite strong pet-spirit and no bad events. And I'm not even sure if it is morally so wrong, after all she is not just a child, she already caused death and to save her you need to cause even more death (killing innocent villagers).

I suppose there should be other option - dialogue - to let the villages give her freely, after all they just want to get rid of her so it should be possible to persuade them to give her to you without the need of bloodshed.

Picked her up, lost a companion animal or two and some food, then she grew into a witch... who was cursed to be a spider. So, I had a spider-witch running around with poisonous bites and an absolutely stupid high mysticism and destiny. Worth it.

Derpy stuff like this is why I love the game.
Yep, time for another campaign!

Hm. I lost most of my food, several pets and then the girl failed to become a witch and i ended up with a useless, cursed scoundrel.

I saw in event editor quest progress if you kill her. Like, you got more moral options in quest if you kill her.
I don't know how good witch she is, but I suggest save scumming.

I lost some food and two pets but when she grew up she turned into a witch with a level 3 curse on her. So, I did the ritual to remove the curse 3 nights in a row and it was gone. Now she's a witch with a pet cat that give +2 to Wisdom and she has a skill to summon rats.

Put her alone in a camp with enough food and wood right next to a well guarded town. The towns people will assist in challenges that hit her camp and one turn before she grows up you can switch her back in the town to benefit from playground during growing up event.

keep that kid no matter what she has crazy stats.

I happened to me once and the kid became the most powerfull witch of my village.

I did this once when I had >200 days of cooked food and all she ever did was poke at my raw food supplies repeatedly. I ended up rolling a Wraith from her growth event.

you can always check the event editor if you want to spoil yourself :D

So I decided to let the child die because I thought it better than slaughtering a whole village and she seemed to be uncurable. After, the villagers find you and give you some level 2 items and thanks. I should have had the guts to save her, I need a witch. All I have is a rat magic-user. :(
