Still probably worth it, especially if don’t have a witch in your party by then
She grew up to be a respectable witch and even broke the curse for some of my people she caused as a child.
My current run party was not strong enough to face villagers, so I let them kill her. She joined me as quite strong pet-spirit and no bad events. And I'm not even sure if it is morally so wrong, after all she is not just a child, she already caused death and to save her you need to cause even more death (killing innocent villagers).
I suppose there should be other option - dialogue - to let the villages give her freely, after all they just want to get rid of her so it should be possible to persuade them to give her to you without the need of bloodshed.
Yep, time for another campaign!
I don't know how good witch she is, but I suggest save scumming.
I happened to me once and the kid became the most powerfull witch of my village.
