What is the point of the sales box?
See title. I don't really understand why an upgrade lets you sell an item for cheaper than the price you set. Wiki hasn't been helpful either.

I use it to just dump all the items that are way too low price to put on a counter thingy. Like hell I'm gonna waste space on a 6 gold item if I am already selling 200-5000 gold items.

It's only useful if you do lots of trips back and forth out of the dungeon by using the portal whenever your inventory is full, accruing tons of items. It's where you chuck anything you don't want to keep in your chests or on the merchandise tables, but still want to make more profit from than if you just discarded it via mirror.

If you're at an early point in the game where you find that you're mostly selling everything you have on the tables in a single day, then its value isn't going to show.

It's definitely a longterm investment though, since by the time the bargain bin pays for all its upgrade costs, you might be close to finishing the game anyway.

I put a ring in there once just to see what happens.

It sold for one gold coin... :steamsad:

I only bought it (and fully upgraded it) for the completionist urge, I've never used it.
