About the plot...
In the trailer, it shows brief cutsceens with hints of a storyline to the game. I've just unlocked the 3rd/5 of the dungeons and haven't seen much for story yet. Were those cutsceens made just for the trailer or does the plot just kick in late?
Still loving the game regardless, was just wondering

I thought the whole plot was just to revitalize the town and uncover whats behind the 5th dungeon door.

If you watch the trailer, it shows will playing with his sister or something, and wanting to be an adventurer, but his parents made him work the store instead, in Sprite animated cutscenes, which is what I was referring to in the post

Isn't that just background info as to why he's working in the store? Plus the in game says something about the town isn't as great 'cause they closed down the dungeons, which I think is still background info and Will's main reasoning to rushing into the Golem dungeon with a broom.

I guess it makes sense, but if that is the case, then I feel like the game would benefit from having those cutsceens/backstory in the game itself. I mean it's still an absolutely amazing game, but having the story elements would've made it all the better.

That's pretty solid criticism right there. I think when this game first came out I saw a review that said something along the lines of, "...Moonlighter sets foot in multiple different areas, crafting, dungeon delving, shopkeeping, etc. etc. But it never fully fleshes out each area, leaving players feeling like there could've been more." I do think an actual story aside from, "Revitalize the town by risking life and limb." would've been nice, but I think it's still alright as is.

I 100% agree. Even though so much more could be fleshed out, I still think the game is perfect as it is. While playing it though, I myself have thought of several ways to flesh out more of those areas, such as a plot implemented based on the trailer, items like bombs (like how they function in zelda, which maybe it's just be, but I feel the game takes a lot of inspiration from Minish Cap, which in my opinion is a good thing) for dungeon crawling, etc. I see this game having much more potential, and it already has a very strong foundation. Who knows? Maybe the devs will add all of this along side a new set of dungeons in a dlc or expansion pack (I hope they do)
