this game vs. reccetear?
hey guys, i've been planning to get this game soon (still deciding wether to get this game on steam or on the switch) but i've been wondering, how similar/different is it compared to recdcettear? since both of these games share both dungeon crawling and selling, i wanted to know how they differ from each other and what can i expect from moonlighter coming from reccetear?

if you just came from reccetear then you will be disapointed in this game.
its not a bad game but it's also not as good as reccetear.

Moonlighter has amazing production values, but unfortunately not a lot of depth. :(

Reccetear has a lot more of depth in the store (more items, more preferences about customer, etc) and you will always get money. The combat is fairly simple but fullfilling. Also you have little crafting and that's it.
On Moonlighter you have a lot more of depth in the combat, smaller and quicker dungeons and overall more fun running them. The sell part is fairly simple (now with the reworked prices you have to be sure not to sell too much of a single item to affect market price) and you can actually lose money when selling weapons (the only way to make money with weapons is having an excellent store multiplier) that also means that unless you sell potions the warriors that come to your shop will just wander around and leave withouth purchasing anything. The chest and inventory management is good but sometimes is just not fun (AND GOD PLEASE ADD A SORTING METHOD).
TL;DR:
If you like fast combat, anime graphics and overall better shop experience go with Recettear, if you want a more Souls/Bloodborne combat with some shop action go for Moonlighter.
They are good games however both aren't excellent (and Recettear is a bit better than Moonlighter).

Still trying to find that Recettear equivalent. Over 10 years after I played the original and still searching :(

@LordMatsu Have you looked at Pixel Shopkeeper? It has... kinda low production values, but it has a little more going on in the shop side of things, and it has a novel "combat" mechanic. (You don't actually control the fighting, you just work on shoveling the loot into your bag as a weird fast-paced puzzle game)
