Endgame Question
[while attempting to avoid spoilers]
Ok, I've just beaten the game. Do the dungeons ever get closed down, as those guys said would happen? Or is that just a story element that doesn't effect endgame? I checked my calendar to see if there was a closure date or something, but there's not. I was hoping to engage in some real commerce with the "those" poeple, as they suggested with the commerce treaty. maybe I was expecting too much? Thanks.

Nope. The game just ends that way. The dungeons were still open because they haven't came back with the treaty. It's an "open" ending game, which I think is quite unmeaningful, as by the end game you prolly already maxed out your equipments and store. Unless you want to chase the achievements though.

I don't feel right going back in anyway. I'll just end my play here.

Yeah same, though I deeply love this type of game, and any merchantile idealism simulator, there's no longer any goal past that point. There's just something magical about hawking your wares in sleepy towns and dusty cities, providing the people what they need and cutting out a peace of the world for yourself. I'd always wanted an mmo or some triple A title that follows the "Spice and Wolf" formula (the anime), wherin you travel from town to town trading and making friends and enemies, perhaps bringing requested items upon returning to that town at some future point. In case anyone is interested, the best version of that type of game I've ever found is "Merchants of Kaidan" (it's not really 3D so it loses some points there).

Anyways, I really hope there is an exansion, or a sequel to Moonlighter.

I recommend playing the DLC, it expands more on the open ending and gives it a more official closure
