Help, Lost save file :(

Formatted my laptop recently and every game I had on my steam folder got screwed
"I formatted the windows Drive only steam was in another drive"
I had to take ownership ...change premission ...and spend hours trying to fix it just so steam would let me be able to play my games again ..

Eventually games that I had their save files cloud saved like moonlighter I tried to recover and it did but I think the folder in the game itself was write protected due to this error and ended up overwriting my cloud save file and now its completely gone .....

anyone can help me out with this ? I just defeated the desert dungeon and had all town fully bought and shop fully upgraded.....I still have the steam achievements "I am playing this on my brother's account" and I don't want a save file that will give me 100% achievements because that will ruin the game for me

so if you have similar progress could you please share with me ?

or is there a trainer or cheat of some sort that can help me get to where I was easy ? cuz I really am not going to replay all of that ..

There is a trainer that apparently enables "god mode" i believe, however i personally do not trust 3rd party software from random sites.

It is possible for you to cheat money though, you would only need a couple of runs on each dungeon to unlock all upgrade materials and then buy everything at the Retailer, Blacksmitch and Witch.
Moonlighter's save file is located on: Steam/userdata/[YourSteamIDNumber]/606150/remote/gameslot
Open it with notepad or a similar software and search for "willGold" (or your gold amount before closing the game)

You can also edit achievements there, but it seems they work a bit different, do so at your own risk.


I personally had to cheat money because the game decided to crash on me after reaching the 3rd floor of the desert dungeon, then it crashed on my next 3rd floor run after using the portal "emblem"... then i got killed on the second floor in a very bs way and finally the game crashed again after finishing the 3rd floor.
Yeah, i wasn't gonna try and get those dumb materials by wasting 15+ mins of my life again.

Mr. ant fun has always been trustworthy for me, he runs a pretty good website of trainers

I finally got to the boss........ and managed to get myself stuck in the wall and I was like....... yeah im not going to just sit here and let him pummel me to death when ive already collected so many expensive rare artifacts.

The golem eventually started swinging in a different direction and knocked me lose from the wall, but I would have been dead long before and wasted 10 good potions for nothing.

I had this money "cheat" done and now the game doesn't let me jump and the character goes automaticaly to the side. And now I guess I need to reinstal the game...
Not cheating ever again.
