Permadeath
Hello

What will happen, if I die in 2.3 or 4 portal? I'll start from the beginning?

Hi there, Rick!

So, there is no permadeath (by which I mean Will cannot die completely) - you are always saved by your Merchant's Pendant and teleported out of the dungeon. However, when you are defeated - you lose all the items that were stored in your backpack - but you keep those that you've put in your pockets.

So it doesn't matter in which dungeon you "die" - you are still transported out of the dungeon and can come back to it later - but it will be different, generated randomly.

You can avoid defeat by:
- using the Pendant by yourself and escaping with all the items that you have (both in your pockets and in your backpack); the next time you enter this dungeon - it will be a new one, generated randomly;
- using a stable portal - it will cost more but you can use it to go back to the same dungeon; think of it like a Diablo-style portal or Waypoint.

I hope that clarifies the case of "permadeath" in Moonlighter for you! Cheers!

How long does the stable portal stay up? Is it just one trip back and fourth or is it until you open a new one? Or like until you sleep?

Would be nice to have a perma-death mode though.

So, it let's you escape to the village - and then go back to the Dungeon. Then it disappears.

It could also happen that you summon this portal but not use it. And then, during your exploration - you might want to use pendant to escape for some reason. In that case - portal will disappear, as well - and new Dungeon will be generated next time you enter it.

So it's possible to use the portal and then enter the dungeon again trough the normal enterance since the portal have saved the last dungeon even if I don't enter trough the portal?

Will there be hard mode?
Anuwiel Apr 9, 2018 @ 6:08am
on the kickstarter's page they were mentionning an "hardcore" mode. the goal for it has been reached, so i GUESS there is one. What's weird tho, i never read it elsewere. I would be really dispointed to not see it available at the release.
