Playing this on Xbox Game Pass (PC) and I'm curious if anyone with the Steam version is getting these bugs.
Started trying Moonlighter out today and have been enjoying it. Considering picking it up on Steam during the sale. But I'm running into some pretty nasty glitches and I'm curious if they're maybe exclusive to XGP or if they crop up on the Steam copy.

I keep losing saved days. I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do to save; leaving a dungeon or sleeping. But I'm still losing days. I know 100% for sure because I just loaded up the game and I lost an entire dungeon run and several town/shop upgrades. I'd spent 16,000 worth of gold but now I have it all back. This also happened earlier too so I've run into losing days twice in just the few hours I've put in.

Another bug I've run into is my controller (360 Wired) refuses to work on the main menu. As does my keyboard (built in Laptop). I can't move the cursor and to continue the game I have to hit Enter several times before it'll finally take.

If this is XGP related then it's the first game I've run into that has anywhere near these issues. If no one is running into this on Steam I may still pick it up but right now I'm getting kind of frustrated.

Edit: Two new ones. While looking at the Town upgrade screen I get a pause of several seconds for seemingly no reason. And I quit out to main menu only to have the game never bring up the main menu and instead just sit at the closed wall start up screen.

I played this game before the last update, and the only problem I had was the compatibility with a generic control, however, the last time I played, and like you, I went to the board screen and I also receive this small pause for a couple of seconds; I just had to wait for the lag to pass.
It has happened to me even inside the backpack menu. These are not bugs that I remember from past updates, but they are good to point out to the developer team.

Edition: Now that I remember, there was also this bug that, on random occasions, when I hit an enemy, the game simply stopped.

I'm still having some issues with it. I've taken to sleeping in the bed multiple times in a row to make sure a save sticks.

I went in and made sure the game uses my dedicated card (cause laptop) and runs in administrative mode. That seems to have helped a little. Microsoft doesn't make doing that very easy for Game Pass games.

I'm still on the fence if I want to pick up the game or not on Steam. This has been a ride so far.
Played the game on XGP to and had none of these bugs.
The Controller in the Main-Menu need 2-3 seconds to work but after that all is fine.

Hmm. I wonder what could be causing it cause I get the issues constantly. It's not like there's anything different between the games I installed on XGP or Steam.

I'm having the exact same issue with the controller (with the XBGP version). I'm stuck indefinitely at the main menu. It doesn't respond to either the keyboard or controller, and I need to alt+f4. I literally can't play the game at all.

Interestingly, it recognizes the controller input when skipping the intro videos, so it's not my controller.

Have you tried the Big Picture mode? That's what I usually do to force Steam to recognize my controller. However, you must configure it.

There is no big picture mode in XBox Game Pass for PC

It's definitely something with the XGP vers. Have no idea what it could be exactly but I bought the game on Steam during the Summer Sale and haven't had any of the issues.

The only thing I could possibly think of is Moonlighter doesn't like being in the default XGP install directory? Maybe something about permissions since Microsoft locks the XGP default folders behind permissions. That was the only idea I had but I just decided to buy it on here.

Odd that we seem to be the only two that've had the issue though.

I found a workaround: alt+tab out and tab back in. When I've done this, it still worked but sometimes the controller was funky and needed a restart (after one or two tries it was good)
