Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Classic, 2005)

The game keeps telling me I have over 500 maps, but I don't...
All I have is the conversion map pack, dark times 2, the 607th map pack, and Genoisis Freight dock. I used to have more, a lot more, but they wouldn't show up in the instant action list because the game thinks I have over 500 maps. But to those of you who know these mods, I dont. I think it has something to do with the conversion map pack. Could someone tell me how to fix this, I really want all my maps back.

Also i wondered if the game counted the maps by files and my addon folder only has 277 files in it.

Hello, When it says that, it means you have to many missions. Basically you have to many mods installed. Star Wars Battlefront II limits the amount of modifications you can do to the games. Installing maps does take too much space but a modpack like the conversion pack which adds like 20 new maps with the kotor and all that stuff really builds up the problem. So try to remove some other mods then try the Mass Affect mod.

I understand that ,but the thing is I dont have 500 maps. And I dont want the mass effect mod, but it started screwing up the map count after I uninstalled it. Trust me, I dont have 500 maps, I also uninstalled everything but the two packs.

The 500 missions is not 500 maps. One mission is one "level." For example, Kashyk-Clone Wars-Conquest is one mission. Kashyk-Clone Wars-CTF would be one more map. Kashyk-Galactic Civil War-Conquest would be ANOTHER map. This is why they add up so quickly. My trick for getting around the limit is to make 2 folders in gamedata, addon1 and addon2. When one hits 500 missions, you start using the other. Whichever one has the map you want to play, you rename to addon and restart the game.

^Exactly.

Literally all you have to do is pick and choose your mods. You don't have to delete them, just move them to a diffeent folder and when you're ready to play, switch out the mods you wanna play with the ones you don't.

Thanks for the help, I never thought of that. But I ended up getting bored of the Coversion Pack, so I just have BFX, Dark Times 2, and a few map packs. And by the way any body know any good maps that are compatible with BFX i really like the mod, Ive just played this game my whole life and the stock maps bore me fairly quickly.
I'm still getting used to pc swbf2, could you recommend any mods? and how do I install them?

most have readme files that tell you. But for the most part you just drag the files into the addon folder, others have autoinstallers because they change more than one folder. The conversion map pack I refered to has all the swb1 maps, new maps, a lot of new game modes, and a Knights of the old Republic era. I personally wasnt a big fan of this mod, but its one of the most downloaded so it did something right. Dark Times is one of my favorites, it adds a new era and a lot of maps, and it has it's own campaign. Now these aren't actual "mods", but you can also download a bunch of maps too, like Genosis frieght dock is a popular one, I personally like the Natural Map Pack. You have to search the internet a good bit, start on Modb.com. Also check out the addon section on moddb.

http://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-battlefront-ii/mods?filter=t&kw=Search+...&released=1&style=def&theme=&type=

Also my new favorite mod Battlefront Extreme or BFX, improves the visuals slightly (shaper textures, better lighting), It doesnt add any maps, it just adds two new eras, BFX Clone Wars and BFX Galatic Civil War. It adds a good bit of units and adds some increased functioality, such as melee, guns that can have energy depleted, overheat, and run out of ammo.

Also there is that Mass Effect mod which is insanely good, I just didn't care for it much cause I never played Mass Effect.
Another I liked was the 302nd Coversion Pack, it adds 6-7 maps with a story.
(And for most of these mods, the unofficial 1.3 patch is needed!!!! That shoudn't be hard to find, it also comes with a few of the mods.)
Oh, and check out file front for mods, I'll post the link with filters for most popular.

Hope this helped.
Thank you! I accidently installed 1.3 in the wrong place, but now I got it figured out, lawl
