Try this:
1: Go to Control Panel.
2: Hit "Hardware and Sound"
3: Under the Sound option on the next screen, hit "Manage audio devices"
4: Switch to the recording tab in the window that pops up.
5: Right-click anywhere below "Select a recording device below to modify it's settings", and check "Show Disabled Devices"
6: A new device called "Stereo Mix" should appear. Right click it, and enable it.
7: Try the game again. It should work. Failing that, try plugging a mic or headphones into your PC.
Thanks for your help guys!
I know im a year late but here is a link to my youtube channel and I have a new fix for this problem so you can check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVV-JW1Vm7o
The trick is the mic fix to stop crashes. You need a mic plugged in and to enable it in the control pannel.
