star wars Battlefront II running really slow

every time i load the game, it runs really slow. even the menu is a bit sluggish too! my system is windows 8.1 with 8GB memory and 1TB hard drive. its on the lowest settings possible and nothing. :( any ideas?

i did fix it eventually, had to run a compatibility troubleshoot and it was fixed :)

What did you do in your CT as to fix it? I'm having probably the same issue.

right click on the game's EXE file (should be called BattlefrontII.exe) and click troubleshoot compatibility. once it has finished detecting problems, click on 'try using recommended settings'. this should put the game into compatibility mode (windows XP Service Pack 3). click 'test the program' to see if it works. don't close the trobleshooter though. if the game runs smoothly, close battlefront and click next in the troubleshooter and then click 'yes, save these settings for this program'. it should work now. hope this helps.
