As for if it's any good, well....I actually have the physical version of it and it basically makes me want to play this version or heck even the PS2 version. The controls feel a bit clunky, but it's kind of to be expected since there is only 1 thumbstick, the only control scheme I found that sort of worked was "Basic" where you can hold R, then move the thumbstick to move the camera and I don't know how the Vita is with emulating PSP games, but on PSP emulating PSX games you can remap the controls, but it'd probably be really great if you could use the Vita's second stick, otherwise you pretty much have to rely on the auto aim. Also, there is no reload or rolling, just jump and sprint.
AI feels even dumber than on the regular version, though I believe this might be on purpose since it's hard controlling your character as it is. It's also limited to having 5 bots per team, 10 in total.
There is no Campaign, just Challenge, Galactic Conquest, and Instant Action.
Challenge is basically a stand alone Hunt Mode.
Maps are limited as well, it only comes with:
Dagobah
Endor
Hoth
Kashyyyk
Mustafar
Mygeeto
Naboo
Polis Massa
Tantive IV
Mos Eisley
Yavin 4
Space Yavin
Space Kashyyyk
For space battles you cannot go inside a Capital Ship to damage their systems....well that's half right, you can go into the hanger, but there is no entrance to go into the areas to damage the internal systems, you can only damage the systems from outside.
The draw distance is pretty bad, though of course it's to be expected from an old game especially a portable game, but it's very distracting especially on Hoth where it's just a large white fog covering up everything you see until you get very close.
Think the only thing I sort of like about it is that bots actually use Heroes/Villains on it, I mean I know there are mods to do that on the PC version, but I kind of find it funny that the portable AI is able to do that while the PS2 and PC (no mods) couldn't, not sure about the Xbox version.
Honestly I'd give it a pass, but Renegade Squadron I'd give that a try at least, I'm not sure about the other one, Elite Squadron though.
