Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Classic, 2005)

HUD Errors
I have a 21x9 Monitor running a resolution of 2560x1080p. When I set the game to that resolution (and it even prompts me to go DSR) it works, except the HUD is all messed up and "squished" in the center of the screen. The crosshair is not placed where the shots are being fired.

Anyone know how to fix this or have dealt with this before? I cannot find any solutions online.

Thanks!

I found this: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2128692

Not sure if it will help, though.

Just fyi, I'm running at 1920x1080 without hud issues. I checked both before and after I installed the latest Unofficial 1.3 patch. That patch also offers a new hud that might, just might, be more resolution friendly than the original hud. But, I don't like it as much as I like the original.

You can find the patch linked here:http://www.gametoast.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=14483

Use the Mediafire version, since the Filfront one is broken.

Install guide, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2LK8TlHjqA

That new hud might not have the resolution restrictions the original one does. And, this patch is basically necessary for you to be able to run mods. It doesn't significantly change the base game, just in case you were worried about that, and even fixes a few minor glitches.

Notepad HUD fix didn't work for me. HUD is still squished.

EDIT 1: Giving 1.3 a shot
EDIT 2: 1.3 a no go (indeed an ugly HUD, but still squished). Tested it in 1920x1080 and the HUD was great. I guess us Ultra-Wide's are screwed.

Not necessarily. Google around for the toggles for the vid/screen config file. Also, you can input resolution command-line options, which might help a little bit.

I am not fond of the 1.3 hud. To remove it and to get the default hud back, all you have to do is to run the installer again and uncheck the hud. (The r119 release, I think.) You might try that, just in case it helps or the 1.3 devs did something with the hud graphics.

As you know, some resolutions are hardcoded. The main menus, for instance, are hardcoded. Much of the hud was originally hardcoded. If I were you, I would start looking around for custom developed hud mods for widescreens. It might be well worth it as this game has been around forever and someone has to have had your same issue.

Good luck!

im a 21:9 head too (native res is 3440x1440), but i changed to 16:9 and HUD is fine now, and there's black at either side (i.e. not stretched across the whole screen), altho i don;t kno what all the HUD means yet ha
