HOW TO MULTIPLAYER IN STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 2
there are i believe 2 ways to do multiplayer. you can get a third party thing like gamerennger or replace the Battlefront.exe file in your folders with the one i will upload.

NOTICE: i am not responsible for any damage done to your computer if you screw up

I replaced the Battlefront.exe file with one i downloaded from another form that i currently can not find no matter how hard i try. As said before if you don't want to do this you can use Gameranger of somthing of like that. (make sure you do your research)

now to replace the Battlefront.exe file you have to go to your directories and replace it.

i have windows 7 so for me its:

C:\Program files (86x)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Star Wars Battlefront 2\Gamedata

one you go to game data it would be smart to copy the battlefront.exe file you already have in the folder just in case the one i provide doesn't deem to suit you well.

once that is copied in wherever you want to put it, Download (if you haven't already) or get the file you downloaded (from the link) and put it in the gamedata folder and restart the game and/or steam.

then when you go to the multiplayer tab in the game go to join and servers should already be active and waiting for your enjoyment.

if it doesnt work please tell me

You may also get an error when booting up the game
message

missing binkw32.dll

this is normal and is easily fixed. just go to this website and download the ZIP file.

multiplayer servers:

take out the dash from -http for the link to work

Is your exe only for 32bit users?

Posted it already in a different thread:

If you don't want to use a downloaded file you can also just edit the Windows hosts file so that Windows redirects all the access attempts from the dead GameSpy servers to the GameShare/GameMaster servers. Here is a link listing what to add to the hosts file:

http://www.gameshare.co/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4&p=6

Obviously you need the Battlefront II list ;-)

Path to file: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

The hosts file has to be edited with Notepad launched in admin mode and saved with the original filename without a .txt extension (easiest method: just click save, not save as...)

Right now the EU server doesnt seem to work correctly so just use the US one. You won't have lag as the GameSpy/GameMaster server only provides a list of servers to the game. Connecting is done directly to the selected server. Also the server lists are shared between EU and US so no worries here.
i believe it is for bit 32 users. as i said before copy the original and store it safe so if the modded one doesn't work you can always put the original back in its place

There is a batch file that does that automatically if you are not comfortable with manually editing your hosts file (which is pretty easy to do but still)

I copied the .exe.
I find some servers now(only 1 EU tho) but no server has players in it..
Does noone play multiplayer or is the .exe thing not working?

If you see any server at all, then if is ofc working. Alse check on GR for servers.
