The game's old enough that you can put everything on max in game and go into the NCP to supersample and enable all the AA settings. Latency isn't really a problem in multiplayer, assuming you're using Ethernet and have a high speed router.

That's not true. I have high speed Internet that works more than fine in any other game, but here, every available server is a laggy mess for me. Now, seeing as the ping display in the server browser appears to be broken, for all I know, this could just be regular latency caused by all the available servers (not like there are many of them) being on the other side of the world. But OP's question is very valid and I'm pretty sure they weren't talking about visual settings; however, I can't really imagine any of the Nvidia Control Panel options actually helping in this case. I'd like to be wrong, though.
