Game not Launching

Hi, I'm revisiting this game after a while and it just refuses to launch.
I press start game and the icon comes up in my task bar but it closes instantly. no black screen, no error message. using windows 10.

I've tried everything from restarting, reinstalling, verifying cache, launching in windowed mode, running as admin, downloading the remaster mod (since it uses a different .exe). checking of any overlays, programs that may interfere etc and nothing works.

I've seen a bunch of other post on here with this problem but they all seem to be unresolved, but some posts saying that you need to do a bunch to start it on modern systems. is there any fix to this?

I used to love this game and would really love to play it again.

Same issue here
I sorta managed to solve it by downloading a pirated copy and copy-pasting the pirated files onto the original's location
The game works now but for some reason online multiplayer doesn't work

ahaha i was thiking of doing that but couldn't find a reliable crack,
could you point me in the right direction?
