GameRanger - Online Play

If I join a server with GameRanger it just starts the game and does nothing else. How does this work?

Thats why Im using GameRanger - ... so you need multiplayer keys to do this also? Im not using official Gamespyservers...

yea this is happeneing when i try to use game ranger as well. Am new to game ranger. Anyone experianced with it know if this is somthing wrong on our end? or is it prolly just the CD key thing.

When you start the game, go to Multiplayer, go to host create, at the top left there's a dropdown, select LAN and configure the game as you would normally.
If you're joining, go to multiplayer, go to join, hit cancel on the "Busy" window, and on set the dropdown to LAN, the game should be the only one on the list.

My bad, I recalled the option wrong, it's "create" not "host."

In-case you're still stumped, here's a visually comprehensive walkthrough[i.imgur.com] of what to do as host after you start the game through GameRanger.

When joining it's a similar process, but you click "Join" instead of "Create" and set the same dropdown to "LAN." There should be only one option on the list (unless you have someone else on your network hosting a LAN game that you're not joining for whatever reason), join that and it'll be the game set up through GameRanger.

Meh I keep trying but after I hit join and the game starts up no games show up under LAN.

It was working fine for me yesterday, if you guys are trying to join the "btf2dedicated" server, that's not working for me either.

I know for now though, there is a server on the actual multiplayer option that starts with FBS.... will try Gameranger though tonight see if I can do anything :D

anyone get this working with game ranger yet? Im trying to join the main dedicated server with game ranger and nothing shows up under LAN
