Any way to manually enter a CD Key?
I bought Star Wars Battlefront II (the actual CD, with a key) a long time ago, thus I have a key. Is there a way I can manually enter a CD Key, so it can run?

Thanks.

Goto \Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Star Wars Battlefront II\Install\CDKey.exe

Run CDKey.exe

Enter Key

Done

Actually yes. Go into your folder with the game (you know steam/steamapps/etc.) and click the install folder. There you can find CDKey.exe, and upon running it, it will ask you for a CD key. If this works or not is beyond me, as I was only clicking around to hopefully find a way to just play offline.

Did you buy the game on Steam recently? Or have you had the game on Steam for a long time?

If you have already had the game for a long time (Before May 2014) then you shouldn't have any issues, and should have a CD Key already.

If you bought the game on another console, etc. it will not work with steam.

I purchased the PC Version of SWBF2. It wasn't on Steam then. It came with a CD Key to install, and people have said it will work.

I just confirmed, CDKey.exe does not work on Steam version :~(

I just confirmed too. I entered my key, It went through, supposedly. However, when I attempted to run it, it still gave me the dreaded error. :P I guess that key is no use. I'll just wait until the publisher gets their act together.

You tried running the game through the actual exe too?

Yep, no luck. Still "Failed to contact key server." :(

Ah, what a shame! Sorry to hear!

The Steam Version has been modified to go through Steam before proceeding. If Steam has no record of the key, then the game will not run.

you can use the code, but not as apart of steam directly, you can add it on as a non-steam game in the games menu. But it only runs the application from the sorce folder, not the steam version.
