Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Classic, 2005)

Character won't stop moving and turning.
I'm playing with a wired xbox 360 controller and my character moves on it's own and turns. Does anyone know how to stop this?

I'm no rocket scientist with this, but my best guess is that something may be wrong with the analog stick (may be stuck in a particular position). Try a different controller, and if the problem continues, see if you have the most up-to-date driver for the controller. Still persists, well.... that's Star Wars Battlefront II for you. I hope I gave some sense of help with your problem. Let me know if it worked.
It works on everything else so I doubt it's the controller. I will try updating the drivers.

Ok. Since it is just the Star Wars game that the controller is giving you problems, I would go into the "Game" option within the game itself. Mess around with some of the features to see if that will solve the issue. Again, not a rocket scientist with this, but I'm trying my best to give you some options to mess with. Good luck.

I found an option to compensate for deadzone and I turned it up to 7 and now the problem is solved. Thank you for the help.

Glad that the problem has been resolved. No problem at all, Jimbo!

How did you get this option? I have the same problem and are trying to fix it. I'd appreciate the help!

I recently started playing the game again and was running into the same problem. For future reference do the following.

Go to controls in the main menu.
To the top right there is a slider labeled "Joystick Dead Zone"
Max out the slider to 10

If you can't move then you haven't set up your key mapping for your controller. That is also done in the control section of the main menu. It will be one of the buttons on the left side. Either map the controls to your person preference or look up a diagram for the system you are use to (Xbox 360 or PS2).

Happy hunter troopers.
