Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Classic, 2005)

Star Wars Battlefront (EA / DICE Corruption)
Recently, all the moderators, including an EA staff member on /r/StarWarsBattlefront were banned due to corruption. My main point of this discussion is to apprise players that EA / DICE is corrupted and that you should be careful of them.

A few months ago, someone picks up dirt on the moderators and warns them. This "dirt" is the bribery between the moderators and EA / DICE. In return for removing certain posts that will harm their reputation on the subreddit, they got early alpha access, T-Shirts, lunches and tickets. Everything except for the former were difficult to pin but I am confident they are true (Already suspected by admins and evidence was provided)

Upon being warned, the moderators subsequently banned him. After some Sherlocking, the said person managed to get his hands on conclusive evidence and sent it to the admin. Afterwards, the admin banned the moderators. Till now, the moderators deny all accusations and shills were created to defend them. Even the former moderator was attacked by them.

I know some of you will state that I have no evidence. However, the evidence was ENOUGH that the admins banned them. Heck, even the admin suspected the moderators before he received evidence.

I know of this person who got them banned but I do not wish to openly reveal his username.

Once again, be careful of EA / DICE and their scandals ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8vR-I3ccCA )

Angry joe is a bit too angry to realize that the dlc add in additional regions which mean additional planets and the reason you are not seeing any exact content is that the dlc will be movie based so they of course don't want to leak anything yet. The four planets he is raging about are the base game regions. As to the constant comparison to battlefront 2 this is not battlefront 3 its a reboot with a multiplayer focus with no singleplayer campaign. There will be single player content but along the lines of extra modes like the gauntlet and not a huge linear set of missions. As to the deluxe edition content name one deluxe edition game that ever came with meaningful extra content. Don't want instant access to some weapons and a couple of emotes? Don't buy the deluxe edition. Not interested in two week early access to the dlc? Wait a while to get the season pass. See its all up to you to make up your own mind so don't let these soapbox internet attention whoors get you all riled up over nothing.

Why are you in favor of map packs that split the community? I'm just assuming you're for it fron context. What's your definition of "meaningful content" in a deluxe edition of a game. I want to see if it's possible to provide an answer or you're just over exaggerating.

There have been map packs 'splitting the community' for years and it doesn't seen to affect sales or server populations no matter how many complain about the practice. Also in the case of the battlefront dlc they can't include content from movies that haven't even been released yet. As to the deluxe argument thats the point. No game with deluxe content has ever had meaningful items added in other than some skins or emotes or a soundtrack etc. Again don't want it then don't buy it. It's a star wars pew pew game and it will sell in the millions and millions no matter how many angry neckbeard threads and vids are created QQing over the finer points.

It's hard to see the impact on games that have yearly releases. Just because it keeps getting sold doesn't mean it's a good practice. If the franchise moves into a multiplayer only focus, it's best to try and keep that playerbase sticking around as long as possible. Map packs are forced upon peple to buy them just to play with other people online. No one wants to a multiplayer game and play with no one just because you didn't buy all the map packs. No one likes getting left behind. I have no idea where that movie argument came from. So i'm just guessing you want proof of game changing content or something physical in a deluxe edition of a game based on what you said. Meaningful is subjective really. I love soundtracks of games. I love when it's added, but I could care less about concept art and such. Though if the art is good enough, i'll appreciate it. "Again don't want it then don't buy it". That really only applies to the game purchase. If you buy the game, you're already suckered for the DLC thanks to the map packs. That last sentence just has me to believe you're completely defending everything about the game. If that's the case, then the discussion is already over since you won't be able to see my side.

Your argument is that you should get everything made for the game with the base game. I understand where you are coming from but thats not how games are made anymore. As to the deluxe content its on par with other games deluxe content. Quit whinging that you didn't get better deluxe content than another game. As to the movies and the dlc the connection is that the dlc content is tied to the upcoming movies so thats why you see no specific details yet and why its not included in the base game which covers the original trilogy and not the new movies. Want the clone wars and other eras? Buy battlefront 2 and download the ultimate mod pack and have single player goodness running out your ears. Besides the entire argument of paying extra is out the window because the price of the base game and season pass is a few fast food meals or other luxuries you buy without a blink of an eye so if you are so cash strapped you have to choose between a big mac or dlc for a game you have greater issues than supposed money grabbing and player base splitting.

Please correct me if I am wrong but AngryJoe himself has mentioned that in the deluxe content, it is basically 2 emotes for 70 bucks. I don't have much insight into games so can you share another popular game that has a deluxe edition with such small content? (No seriously, not sarcasm. Just want to know)

Re-posted this just in case you didn't see. I will delete the original comment.

It's two emotes and instant access to three weapons you would normally have to unlock for $10 over the base game though arguably all three will probably take a single days play to unlock normally. The price for the base game is $60 and the deluxe was $70 which is about what other games upcharge for the 'deluxe' edition. Look at it this way. A double meat subway sandwich is about $10 for fifteen minutes of taste bud goodness and the extra content is about a days worth of early unlock epeen fun so which is the better deal? Its up to you to decide.

I never said everything so don't put words in my mouth. I just said map packs are a bad practice. Two emotes is not on par with other game's deluxe content such as a soundtrack, concept art, wallpaper, poster etc. No one knows. What you're implying is just an assumption. We just have to wait and see what other content is there besides map packs. Where the heck are you getting these ideas of me? It's one thing to not think twice between food and a luxury. It's buying the base at full price and then paying just about the same amount to play with other people online in a multiplayer focused game. The base game is literally a ticket to have access to have the availability to buy the actual content from the DLC.

Like you said, it is unnecessary for one to pay for the extra 10 bucks for the items in the Deluxe edition except for the emotes. $10 for 2 emotes is just too high. However, I see your point. Deluxe Edition is best for the overhyped people who just can't wait.

You're comparing a necessity to a luxury. Yes, even products from Subway are considered food.

There is tons of content in the base game. Did you miss all those greyed out menus and sections in the beta? The season pass will add extra content to the base game for a cheaper price than buying it all seperately when it comes out one at a time. I get it you personally don't like the idea of dlc. Apparently this isn't an issue with gamers at large as they buy the dlc anyways no matter how many angry neckbeards make threads on steam or post up angry neckbeard vids on youtube. I bought the ultimate edition because the price was trivial compared to my normal entertainment purchases which typically last an evening at best or just a few hours depending on what it was I did. The base game will last at least a year and the dlc will add to that. Seems a good deal to me when compared to the price of dinner and a movie or a day at the ballpark or some other outing.

Subway is a luxury food. For that $10 double meat sammich you could have trucked over to the grocery store and bought enough tasty food for a few days. The deluxe edition is luxury food because you could have simply bought the base game and not worried about two emotes no one is going to notice during hectic gameplay and three weapons you could have unlocked day one. Could the deluxe edition have been better? Probably. Does it really matter for the success of the game? Not really as none of it affects gameplay.
