Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Classic, 2005)

Battlefront 2 Not Starting (Using Linux and Wine)
Just a heads up, I'm using Linux so I'm using Wine to run Steam.

I press play in Steam and then after a few seconds Battlefront 2 starts up. It's just a black box in the middle of my screen. My mouse has disappeared and I just have to sit there for a few seconds and then the black box and the Battlefront 2 tab disappear. What do I do?

How would I fix it on Linux? I've seen some solutions but those are for Windows :/

Anyone know how to fix this?
Not sure if anyone will be able to help you too much....

I would try to look through some google results first:

I know this is way future, but for anyone else, PlayOnLinux.

PlayOnLinux only offers installation from retail CD-ROM. How to get it running in Steam (Wine)?

I used playonlinux for mine, it makes the loading screens take a while, because it has to simulate directX through OpenGL, just install the Steam client through playonlinux, and you can at least attempt to run any windows game, some work, others don't at all. Good luck!
