Instant action co-op/noncompetitive mode?
On the console, split-screen permitted all players to be on the same team, with no spawn timer. Is there any way to duplicate that via LAN PC? I just got BF2 to play with my husband and it won't let us play "co-op" :( not what we wanted. Mods? Help?

Fortunately it does let us play LAN with no problem. That's out of the way.

you can hex edit the battlefrontII exe and change the spawn timer there.
I don't know which codes need to be changed however.
as for same team.... you can add player select option on any server you create

No, I can't seem to change anything to 'player select'. Can you guide me to this?

Oh, I've found it, it's a bit peculiarly located (universal alongside with other gametype options is strange to me) - thank you for that. If all players are on the same side, does it discard the timer?

you need to download somthing called game ranger and set up a server via that. once that happens you can both launch the game on seperate computer whilst connecting to the same game. The multiplayer on battlefront 2 was shut down so you have to use an external program to play it now. Have fun on the gamefront :)

Gameranger is ineffectual. I don't have any problems making the connections. I did have problems playing similar gamemodes to the console version.

Seems we're going back to PS2/Xbox for this one.

you can add any timer you want also on the options when creating a game

may I ask,which modes exactly?

Mostly Galactic Domination which seems to be a long running complaint. Everyone says "well there's mods" and nobody specifies which ones.

Is Gamefront still a viable way to play via non-local LAN?

I see. never tried that mod/never heard of it. some mods are not finished by the modder(s). and I have came across one mod which some maps are only compatible with certain OS versions.
as for Gamefront I never knew there was Lan... you sure you have the correct name? since it is a mod site.

Yes, Gamefront for Battlefield 2. But me and my husband are on the same physical LAN which fortunately makes it much easier for us.

Still searching for a mod that lets us play Galactic Domination together.
