Rebels are worthless
I like the Galactic Conquest but cannot seem to get anywhere with the rebels. Empire - good. CIS or Clones, just fine. But the rebels are just worthless. Is this just my perception? I know you have to do all the work, but these clowns can't defend Hoth when I am knocking out ATATs with a sabotage bonus? /rant

sniper on hoth is normally the best way to go, if you are doing galactic conquest. The issue you are having is not that the rebels are bad, but merely that they are difficult to play. Wookie is maybe the strongest class, but it is not easy to play at all, unlike a class like jet trooper where you're just like AAAAAAHHHH LOOK AT MEEEE I CAN FLYYYYYYY.

Same thing for Empire with Endor and CIS with Geonosis. I'd reccomend sticking to the sniper class on Hoth.

@honest_E is right about the snipers on Hoth. Normally I start myself in the building closest to the AT-ATs and crouch on the roof with a supply bonus. I end up with every relevant medal before running out of my first allotment of ammo. Once you get the hang of it, you can reliably milk the imperial AI for credits by letting them have a nearby planet to repeatedly attack Hoth from. 1k bonus per victory.

Well it makes sense from a perspective of the empire has a ton of money and soldiers and ships compared to the rebellion who have random people who have joined the rebellion against the empire and the rebellion doesn't have a ton of money or support. Further more the rebels don’t have a ring of experience when it comes to weapons compared to the empire so it kinda makes sense as to why the clones, empire and cis all know how to properly handle a gun in a firefight since the droids are programmed the clones are trained/programmed and the empire is trained etc while the rebels are not trained well enough to stand a chance etc.

Hello,
Glad to see there's still people playing at this epic game. I agree with the rebels in galactic conquest.

Each factions has one planet that is pretty tough. On Hoth rebels do better if you hold back and make good use of the dish turrets and sniper use hero bonus to get luke in there. He is great at lowering the empire's troop count if you use him in the narrow hallways around the hanger. lastly do your best to keep the outposts. The more turrets pointing at the ATATs the better.

wrong. Just use dish turrets and start sniping folks. And aiming at the AT ATs neck. since it does critical damage. For AT TE you can just place mines and aim for the undercarriage.

Hoth is biased for the Empire to roll the rebels based on their crushing victory in the films.

Rebels on Hoth are weak and I recomment you to use the Sniper class. For capturing CPs use technician.
With a bit of practice wookies with their launchers are the deadliest class of the rebels.

Or that.

Finally won with Rebels - the sniper helped (I was already using dish turrets). Also, had to focus more on destroying troops than capturing bases. The former led to the latter.

That's weird. Never had issues with the Rebels, considering they have some of the easiest planets to defend/capture.

Endor and Polis Massa practically win themselves. Naboo isn't hard because the Empire typically gets stuck in the corner of the map and leaves their command posts free for the taking. Kashyyyk is easy because of the wookies being on your side.

Never had issues with Hoth. I usually just grab a snowspeeder and take out one of the AT-ATs and then snipe from the trenches. I don't think I've ever lost on Hoth. Only planet I ever have difficulty with is Dagobah because the map is just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Horrible Orbit Nov 22, 2020 @ 11:44pm
Seconded. Dagobah sucks. It's too small and the level design is disagreeable. As nice as it is to have a longwinded skirmish until everything's dead on at least one side, I'd enjoy the option to make at least some sort of conscious decision to give myself a tactical advantage. Dagobah's not really built that way. Maybe the chaos it invokes is deliberate and meant to match the setting, but somehow it doesn't endear itself to me.
