In terms of mods, I'm a sucker for Galactic Conquest. It's by far my favorite mode. So the Create Your Own Galactic Conquest mod was like the ultimate childhood dream fulfilled. It basically lets you generate your own Galactic Conquest campaigns with a set number of modded maps. You can have as many modded maps as you want for the campaign and it even includes the appropriate space battle for each modded map!! For example, you can play the entire Dark Times Mod in Galactic Conquest with space battles over Dantooine or Fest or Taris. Or you can include the Marvel's Conversion Pack and have space battles over Rhen Var and Bespin. It's a really neat mod and by far the most complete Galactic Conquest mod to date.
I remember trying that mod out for the afterlife map (one of the maps they have screenshots of on Moddb) but it would crash to desktop every time I tried to play it
As for OP, I really like the legend of zelda mod and map: https://www.nexusmods.com/battlefront2/mods/312/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fbattlefront2%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D312&pUp=1
Unfortunately it has been removed from all archives, at least to my knowledge. It was an extremely large map (even on a speeder it took quite a while to traverse) it had a ton of custom units, hidden area's, a boss fight room and a normal conquest set up all mashed together. The other map was space to ground naboo: https://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-battlefront-ii/addons/space-to-ground-mappack-1-naboo-hoth-coruscant
It's a pretty good large scale battle map with space and ground combat and a nice assortment of vehicles and units.
As for the base game, I love Death Star and Mos Eisley, but I enjoy all the others as well.
