3rd Person Reticle Inaccuracy at High Resolutions
I recently bought an Acer Predator X34 3440x1440 monitor. I also recently got back into Battlefront II and have been playing it extensively on Game Ranger, and the game is just so damn addicting (and no, I didn't buy the monitor for Battlefront II). In playing the game for the past week on Game Ranger in 1080p, I noticed that at medium to long ranges, the lasers would land slightly above the reticle. Sure, it was a little distracting having to watch the reticle as well as where the lasers were actually going rather than just having to watch the reticle, but it wasn't unbearable. Yesterday, in an attempt to make the game more visually pleasing, make it look more up-to-date, and actually use the native resolution of my new monitor, I installed the Battlefront Evolved mod as well as added 2560x1440 into the vidmode ini file. The game looked stunningly crisp, but the reticle inaccuracy when in 3rd person had gotten worse. At medium to long ranges, the lasers were going about 1/2in (~13mm) above the center of the reticle. Now, it's very difficult to be accurate in 3rd person. At that point, I realized that this was obviously a resolution problem, so I started experimenting with lower resolutions and realized that most resolutions below 1080p are nearly perfect in terms of reticle accuracy. Sure, I could just use 1st person and still use 1440p, but 3rd person is so much better (i.e. the camera is much higher for greater visibility and awareness and the better rolling animation), so no matter what, I want to keep using 3rd person.

So here are my questions:

1. Are there and mods I can install or modifications I can make to the files to correct the reticle inaccuracy in 3rd person at high resolutions?

2. If there are no mods I can install and no modifications I can make to the files myself, what resolution (that doesn't look like ♥♥♥♥) has the best reticle accuracy in 3rd person?

3. To any Battlefront II veterans out there: what perspective (1st or 3rd) do you use and if you use 3rd person, what resolution do you use? And if you use a resolution that causes this issue, how do you cope with the inaccuracy of the reticle?

dont know of any mods, however you CAN use the mod tools to create anything. but you might want to post this on GameToast instead. since its the modding community
