having trouble installing the Extreme 2.2 mod
and yes I have installed the 1.3 patch and both convergence mods, but for somereason no matter how I try, I cant get it in the game....

please help

Did you uninstall the mods you currently have first ?

Most of the time it may be you have to many mods installed at once, as Jean said just uninstall the current mods you have. And a path to the light side may come available.

Pretty sure that patch also affects other files like common.lvl and ingame.lvl or is that 1.3 patch only?

Technically some mods add files to Data folder. BFX is one of them. however, if the BFX folder isn't in addon, it won't appear ingame and the game won't (or shouldn't) detect it. so theres really no need to uninstall it completely.
