Thanks for the reply and links. If the game lets you create a custom controller setup, it must store that info somewhere; whether that be a text file, binary file or the Windows registry. Otherwise there'd be no way for the game to be setup for that configuration on startup.
[Edit] BTW neither gametoast or swbfgamers will let me register - both report erorrs in my registration info that are in fact entered correctly. Since those sites' search functions either aren't available or don't return answers to my questions, without being able to post a question they're of no help to me. :( I'm really hoping someone here might have an answer to my question.

Nope it had nothing to do with receiving the email - it was purely related to the registration web forms not working correctly. the swbfgamers site just wouldn't except my Captcha entry even though it was entered correct. Whereas the gametoast registration form complained about the length of my email address, which it claimed could only be a max of 20 characters while mine was actually only 19.
For the SWBFGamers site, keep trying other captchas. It absolutely shouldn't give you problems.
And if you have multiple email addresses, I suggest trying another for GameToast just to check. But it also shouldn't give you any problems.
