Private Games Lobby Connection Trouble
When I play with some of my friends in a private online lobby, we have connection problems. This means that only the host is able to play the game properly, while everyone else is constantly having connection problems. We have already tried changing the host. The problem still occurs. Does anyone have the same problem and know how to fix it?

I have a similar problem when i play a private game, only difference is it only happens when i play on modded maps/eras/game modes. When i play on vanilla maps etc. it works fine without people disconnecting. I did play a few modded matches without disconnecting from host, but now its constantly having trouble. Are you playing on mods or just using vanilla?

I'm having this problem too. Got the game for both me and my sibling to play, hosting the game on the internet or through LAN doesn't make a difference despite maybe lesser lag for the person connecting to the host through LAN, but whoever joins the host can't play the game properly with constant connection problems and inevitably gets disconnected. Neither of us are using mods only Vanilla. Would really like a fix.

i play swbf2 with the 1.3 patch on both me and my siblings pc. the other day we played clone wars revised mod, i hosted and it worked for both of us. The only thing is, i have a slow computer compared to theirs, so i need to load the map first before they join. If they join while my game is still loading, theirs loads first, but then says "disconnected from host" probably because im still taking a year to load my map. So i have to load fully first, then they join and it works. So i have to put "minimum players to start" as 2, so the match does not start till both of us have joined which is good. So maybe try that method as the host, so everyone joins after the room has loaded, and then the match can start when everyone is there-might help with connection problems caused by loading the maps.

I tried your method and set the game up so my siblings PC was the host. Although my siblings PC may be slower it doesn't seem to have your issue of taking a long time to load the maps in, like my PC it's relatively quick to do this and we can join each other fine without disconnection.
The problem is that whoever hosts the game has smooth game play while the person who joins lags, the network performance icon flashes for them and after a couple different map changes they get disconnected and the hosts game breaks.
I tried playing a couple games with them changing the hosting Bandwidth to a higher number each time on their computer, I don't really know what the setting does but nothing really changed. I was constantly checking our ping through the games and the ping was changing rapidly from around 35 - 60 ping and despite this the host still runs the game smooth. As far as I know our internet isn't bad and we don't have any problems playing other games together so I really don't know what the problem is.
You mentioned you were running the game with the 1.3 patch, I don't know much about it other than it's downloadable and it improves the games graphics. Could it be the reason why you are able to play with your sibling without any problem, like whether it improves multiplayer or not? I don't really know.

So the 1.3 patch is mainly a script enhancing mod which is used to run most mods, it has a small-ish graphics boost which i never noticed, my game runs smoother with it. Originally this patch (r129 version) disabled the multiplayer feature, but r130 version of the patch fixes it to normal for both steam and gog versions. So i doubt that this will help your multiplayer experience as such. 1.3 patch is mainly for running most the mods out there. I do notice that when i am in multiplayer games there is a slight lag, not bad, but most enemies will need a few extra bullets to kill, as 1 or 2 bullets do not really register. This is not game breaking for me and im pretty sure its the fastest the game servers can allow us. Maybe the problem is the actual game servers, its a pretty old game so maybe they are not investing as much efficiency in their online services. In terms of disconnecting from host, i am not too sure. I have not played around with bandwidth or anything like that. I will play some un-modded maps and see how my ping is. I will do some digging for some solutions.

I'm in Australia so I don't really know what the deal is with online servers nearest to me but we have been playing over LAN which is noticeably better than connecting through the internet, however it does not fix the problem.
The types of connection issues the person that is joining has are more than hits not registering on occasion. Things like rubberbanding, A.I bugs and and when playing as a lightsaber wielding character there's a a constant visual glitch where their attacks are super fast and when throwing a lightsaber or having someone else throw one towards you, occasionally makes this big thick glitch of of the saber's colour, all the while the hosts game is completely fine...
Come to think of it I have this problem joining any multiplayer game based in places really far away like EU or NA but it doesn't make sense to be happening in a LAN game being hosted so close.
It would be a pity if it was just the age of the game that is causing this problem since I've been having a lot of fun with this game and so far it's been the solution to not being able to properly run the newer battlefronts on both our computers.
I appreciate that you are taking the time to help and I will try and do some more digging on the issue too.
