The problem is that whoever hosts the game has smooth game play while the person who joins lags, the network performance icon flashes for them and after a couple different map changes they get disconnected and the hosts game breaks.
I tried playing a couple games with them changing the hosting Bandwidth to a higher number each time on their computer, I don't really know what the setting does but nothing really changed. I was constantly checking our ping through the games and the ping was changing rapidly from around 35 - 60 ping and despite this the host still runs the game smooth. As far as I know our internet isn't bad and we don't have any problems playing other games together so I really don't know what the problem is.
You mentioned you were running the game with the 1.3 patch, I don't know much about it other than it's downloadable and it improves the games graphics. Could it be the reason why you are able to play with your sibling without any problem, like whether it improves multiplayer or not? I don't really know.
The types of connection issues the person that is joining has are more than hits not registering on occasion. Things like rubberbanding, A.I bugs and and when playing as a lightsaber wielding character there's a a constant visual glitch where their attacks are super fast and when throwing a lightsaber or having someone else throw one towards you, occasionally makes this big thick glitch of of the saber's colour, all the while the hosts game is completely fine...
Come to think of it I have this problem joining any multiplayer game based in places really far away like EU or NA but it doesn't make sense to be happening in a LAN game being hosted so close.
It would be a pity if it was just the age of the game that is causing this problem since I've been having a lot of fun with this game and so far it's been the solution to not being able to properly run the newer battlefronts on both our computers.
I appreciate that you are taking the time to help and I will try and do some more digging on the issue too.
