Some of the stuff I was able to change was the size and location of the spawn button, the character information boxes, and the team icon that appears above the character model.
After you prepare a new copy of ifs_pc_spawnselect, you can get this ingame by putting "ifs_pc_spawnselect" under "script" in your mission.req and then the game will load yours and ignore the original script.
You cannot edit stuff like max characters, that's hard wired inside the game's exe.
Not sure how he even expects an Average Andy who wanted to revisit/check out the game to know how to use a Hex Editor.
Uh, wrong.

I legit have no idea where you got the idea that the fonts are all the same across every platform but I can assure you from all my years playing on the PS2 version that you have no idea what you're talking about. I can attest to the fact that the console font for BF2 varies greatly from the PC edition. Hell, a LOT of things differentiate; namely the menu hud itself.
As for the fonts themselves:
PC: Arial Black
Everything else: ISL Jupiter.
You can literally SEE the difference plain as day.
Bumping a 3 year old topic without contributing anything useful? + are you a modder for SWBF2? + Who asked?
I consider that you should visit your local golf course and see if they'll let you touch their finest grass.
One, who cares?
Two, I would be if trying to learn how to mod the game didn't feel like solving a 50x50 rubiks cube
Three, I did, because I care about people spreading misinformation about what was/wasn't in the games. I know my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ from personal experience of playing these games a lot more than you apparently, so you can take your grass and stick it.
