Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Classic, 2005)

Menu/UI Cutoff
So I bought this game about 2 years ago, and I played it for a little bit and remember it working fine. I uninstalled it for like a year, and then when I reinstalled, the menus are all out of whack and being cutoff at the bottom of the screen. In Instant Action for example, there are three sections, the map section, the game mode/era section, and the queue. The queue is 2/3 cut off by the right side of the screen, and all of the control buttons (start, add map, etc.) are not accessible because they are cutoff by the bottom of the screen. I haven't changed any steam launch options and this still occurs.

I've tried the "/resolution 1024 768" but that changes the menu AND the in-game resolution when I want to have the normal 800x600 menu and 1080p in-game. I can't seem to figure out why the menu is being cut off, and I've tried running it in compatibility mode and windowed mode, and I've turned off high DPI scaling. Any suggestions?

Specs:
  • HP Envy x360 15" Touch (Laptop)
  • Intel i7-8565U w/ 12 GB RAM
  • NVIDIA MX150 (4GB VRAM)
  • 1 TB HDD w/ 16 GB Intel Optane Memory
  • Display: 2160p 60 Hz Integrated Display (Laptop)

Note: When I first bought it, I had an older laptop.

Try these potential fixes below:
  1. Try forcing the resolution using these steps below (see PCGamingWiki[www.pcgamingwiki.com]):
    Widescreen resolution[www.pcgamingwiki.com]
    • Command line parameter
    1. See Command line arguments[www.pcgamingwiki.com].
    2. Set the values to the desired resolution. For example, use
      -resolution 1920 1080
      or
      /resolution 1920 1080
      .
    3. This does not appear to work for resolutions past 16:9 and 16:10. Edit "vidmode.ini". See this post[www.wsgf.org].

    Notes
    • The Multiplayer Update will always list all supported resolutions.
    • The custom resolution will always take precedence and as such it cannot be overridden from the options menu.
    • The menus may become messed up or unusable after forcing them to certain resolutions; this can be repaired with Star Wars Battlefront II Remastered.

  2. Otherwise, refer to the "Fixing the menu and HUD for higher resolutions" section in this guide below about installing the Star Wars Battlefront II Remastered mod:

Star Wars Battlefront II Remastered mod - Mod DB

  3. If none of the above works, try installing the Unofficial v1.3 Patch.
