Oddity of an old game, mods can fix

Is your in-game screen resolution set correctly?

If not, try these steps below (see PCGamingWiki[www.pcgamingwiki.com]):
Widescreen resolution[www.pcgamingwiki.com]
  • Command line parameter
  1. See Command line arguments[www.pcgamingwiki.com].
  2. Set the values to the desired resolution. For example, use
    -resolution 1920 1080
    or
    /resolution 1920 1080
    .
  3. This does not appear to work for resolutions past 16:9 and 16:10. Edit "vidmode.ini". See this post[www.wsgf.org].

Notes
  • The Multiplayer Update will always list all supported resolutions.
  • The custom resolution will always take precedence and as such it cannot be overridden from the options menu.
  • The menus may become messed up or unusable after forcing them to certain resolutions; this can be repaired with Star Wars Battlefront II Remastered.

Otherwise, refer to the "Fixing the menu and HUD for higher resolutions" section in this guide below about installing the Star Wars Battlefront II Remastered mod:

Star Wars Battlefront II Remastered mod - Mod DB

If none of the above works, try installing the Unofficial v1.3 Patch (see PCGamingWiki[www.pcgamingwiki.com]):
Unofficial v1.3 Patch – Fixes various bugs, makes text more easily readable, and includes multiple changes for improved moddability. Online compatible, for retail release see here.

It's an unofficial, community patch that fixes a lot of bugs that were still left in the latest official v1.1 game.

The Steam guide I linked is actually for older revisions of the v1.3 Unofficial Patch, the latest you want is r130 which is in the Mod DB link I posted. Simply run the executable to patch the game.

Might resolve the issue.

I don't think so; the v1.3 Unofficial Patch simply fixes bugs and improves the moddability for SWBFII, if you like.

The Gamorrean Hunt game mode on Jabba's Palace that you reference in that post comes with a separate mod (I think it comes with the updated Conversion Pack).

I've made a quick post over there.

Just install the Conversion Pack v2.0 and then the v2.2 Patch for it.

As I say, I think it's included but I'm not 100% certain.

EDIT: Gamorrean Hunt is included in the Conversion Pack - just tested myself now.

On Mod DB? No, not at all; your Steam login is completely unrelated to any third-party website.

Those links are public download links, just click the red "Download Now" button and then run the executable file respectively for each of the mods (i.e Conversion Pack v2.0 and the v2.2 Patch).

It's just a step-by-step install wizard; the only thing you need to watch for is the game data file path. Here's an installation guide nonetheless:
  1. Download the Star Wars Battlefront Conversion Pack v2.0 from Mod DB.

    Direct download here.

  2. Run the Conversion Pack installer (ConvoPackInstaller.exe) once downloaded.

  3. In the "Select Setup Language" window, select the language in the dropdown box, and then click OK.

  4. In the "Setup" window, click Next.

  5. In the License Agreement step, click the I accept the agreement option button, and then click Next.

  6. In the Information step, click Next.

  7. In the Select Destination Location step, change the file path to where your Steam version is installed (as the mod was originally developed for retail CD release, so by default points to a different file path).

You want to find the "GameData" folder in the SWBFII base folder, which will be here:
    <path-to-game>\GameData
See here[www.pcgamingwiki.com] on how to navigate to "<path-to-game>".

For example, it will likely be here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData

  8. Click Next. The Conversion Pack files will now be extracted to the "GameData" folder location you set.

  9. Once installed, click Next.

Then, to install the Star Wars Battlefront Conversion Pack v2.2 Patch, follow these instructions:
  1. Download the Star Wars Battlefront Conversion Pack v2.0 from Mod DB.

    Direct download here.

  2. Run the Conversion Pack v2.2 Patch installer (ConPack2.2Patch.exe) once downloaded.

  8. Click Next. The Conversion Pack v2.2 Patch files will now be extracted to the "GameData" folder location you set.

  9. Once installed, click Next.

**Bear in mind that the Conversion Pack installs an older (r83) version of the v1.3 Unofficial Patch. You will want to install the latest (r130) version of the v1.3 Unofficial Patch, as linked in the earlier posts and here.**

To play it, the Gamorrean Hunt game mode is simply Hunt on Jabba's Palace.
