Next manually delete everything from your games game data and everything in you games exe directory.
Now verify games cache steam should see that all of your files are missing now it will grab its vanllia data for the game and will make your game 100% vanilla.
Wait until the game is done verifying it’s games data back into place.
Finally test your vanilla game see if the ai works now.
I recommend you download the remaster mod off of Moddb make sure it’s the latest version as some mods may conflict if the remaster version is out of date.
Once you have installed the remaster mod you will now be able to install any mod you want
