Yep, we're aware of it and we've got people working on it now.

They are working on it.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is finally free
https://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Star-Wars-Battlefront-II/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80242560837
Nope still not available for me on the xbox one.
Refresh your PC on that webpage.
Get it on your PC at the link provided. There should be a yellow label on top of the price that says Gold Exclusive Price + FREE which indicates that the game is free if you have a gold sub.
Go ahead and purchase the game with your usual credit account. After signing in to your account, before the final confirmation, it should say FREE. When you see that go ahead and confirm.
You will see this message:
Thanks for buying Star Wars Battlefront II!
You now own Star Wars Battlefront II for the Xbox 360.
It has been added to your download queue.
If this product is part of Xbox One Backward Compatibility, it will appear in the Ready to Install section of My Games & Apps on your Xbox One console when it becomes available.
The price is certainly right. It's showing as free with a gold sub and if I don't want to bother with gold it'll cost me $9.99 CDN (about $7.50 US.)
It is no different. But if you pay for one month's gold sub or free trial right now aside from SWBF2 you get 4 other games: 3 Xbox One games(Technomancer, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2, Outcast Second Contact) and an Xbox 360 game Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2.
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 (Xbox One) - Available: March 16 - April 15
Star Wars: Battlefront II (Xbox One, Xbox 360) - Available: April 1 - 15
The Technomancer (Xbox One) - Available: April 1 - 30
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (Xbox One, Xbox 360) - Available: April 16 - 31
Outcast: Second Contact (Xbox One) - Available: April 16 - May 15
Great deal for one month's sub.
I have the Xbox 360 box copy of GRAW 2. I will probably try to sell it after I get the digital copy on my hard drive with Games with Gold. You could do the same with SW BF 2 if you get the digital copy with games with gold.
BTW, MS has been giving away a lot of OG Xbox Star Wars games lately with games with gold including Republic Commando last month and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy 2 months ago. I am hoping they will give away KOTOR 1 and 2 as well as SW Battlefront 1 which isn't available on PC later this year.
Thanks for the info. Well I have just about everyone of those Star Wars games on Steam and I feel they play better than their console equivalents due to official fixes and fan mods. My gaming PC is connected to my HDTV, so for couch gaming I don't benefit much by playing these games on my X360. SWBF2 for 360 is an exception, because it allows my son and I to play it split screen.
I also have all of those games on steam(bought the entire Lucas Arts Star Wars collection on sale) except SWBF1 which isn't available on PCs. I also have my gaming PC attached to my big screen TV.
If you have an Xbox One X, you would feel different. They actually enhance all the OG Xbox games to 4K resolution with higher framerates, and decreased download times. Many of the Star Wars hack and slash saber games and Tie fighter flight sims are better played with a controller which isn't available on many PC games, so I prefer playing them on my Xbox One X.
They also tend to have fewer bugs or glitches on Xbox One since there is only one system configuration(OG Xbox), that the original developer had to deal with initially rather than the multiple ones and different operating systems you see on PC. The forum discussion on steam are full of complaints about bugs and glitches with many of these games on modern OS.
The only reason I prefer playing them on steam on PC is when they have been officially updated like KOTOR 2 with controller support, bug fixes, upgraded resolution and restored mod content or on games that require precise aiming controls with a mouse, in a competitive shooting environment when playing multiplayer online.
I also hope they will give away OG Xbox game Ninja Gaiden Black as well with games with gold. That hack and slash game was one of the best from that generation and is not available on PCs as it was an Xbox exclusive. It looks great in 4K resolution on the One X.
No. Unfortunately the enhanced games(with higher resolutions, framerates and decreased download times) are available only on the Xbox One X. It is a function of the hardware.
The S won't be able to achieve 4K resolution. However the Xbox One S still runs the game a bit better than the OG Xbox with a slight increase in resolution than the OG Xbox in 1080p and improved framerates.
Here is a comparison of Oblivion on Xbox One S and X.

Not all the Xbox 360 games are enhanced but all the OG Xbox games are.
Halo MCC(with all the Halo games except Halo 5) on the Xbox One X and soon on PC is very good. They have been remastered and can be played in 4K on the Xbox One X. They look fantastic and the PC community are excited that the games are finally going to be released one at a time in the next few months on steam and the Windows store.
Yup, I see M$ doing a lot for the PC gaming community with the release of MCC games, but I think the verdicts still out for what they've done and will do this gen for their console. I've played Halo 5 on a buddies Xbox One and wasn't very impressed - found it about the weakest Halo game I've played to date, albeit the sp campaign in H2 wasn't anything to get excited about either. Halo CE Anniversary 360 was a real treat though - by far my favorite in the series. I'm hoping 343 gets the series back on track with Halo Infinite.
I'm not big on Halo mplay though, with playing split-screen co-op with my kids by far the most enjoyable play experiences I've had with the series. So if the SP campaign isn't good for a Halo game, it's a bust for me.
Anyways I really like the Xbox One's back compatibility feature(nearly 600 games now) since I missed a lot of games from the previous gens and being able to play many of them enhanced to 4K on my TV is a real treat.
