how is the state of the game currently?
im buying it soon and i wanna know if there are a lot of ppl playing multi. i wanna have a blast of the past. the last time i played it was so long ago that i dont even remember anything, even how to play online :D

the only thing these new "star wars EA" games made me wanna do, is buy and play the old ones. games nowadays are so trash that i dont think there will ever be a battlefront better than this. or an rpg better than kotor.

bf ea is laggy as heck and the star card system is unbalenced.
bf2005 has more maps and it had obiwan, anakin, and general greivious at launch.
Also it has risk board mode

"game breaking glitches"... The only glitches I found are things like being able to walk through a thick door frame's middle part. Or, if you go to a scratched up PS 2 version, you can see one Stormtrooper being catapulted out the back of an AT-AT and it only happens about once-in-a-lifetime.

Basically: EA has better graphics, sound, and AI that doesn't ignore you or specifically target you. SWBFII (2005) has more of the following: sandbox stuff, replay value, modes, heroes, balancing, classes, and fun.
EA's Star Wars Battleflop II is roughly six times more expensive as well.

So, would you trade a lot more money for better graphics, sound, and AI at the cost of a whole lot of other fun stuff?

Classic BF II maybe has more heroes. I didn`t counted. EA BF II, on the other hand, has popular/recent characters like Kylo Ren, Rey and Finn. Not to mention skins from Han Solo movie. It does not have Windu or Jango, but characters like Mundi and Ayla Secura aren`t that cool. Quantity over quality in case of Classic.

Balancing? I hate this card system in EA BF and that you can have 6 VS 8 matches, but Classic has heroes which can fast travel and kill any non-hero in almost one hit (played long ago). Heroes are not balanced in Classic at all.

Modes? What`s wrong with them? Last time you played EA BF II if at all?

Game is on sale right now in Origin. Dirt cheap. Bought it myself recently.

I'm really just playing devil's advocate here because everyone likes to bandwagon hate the newer BF games without having any valid reasons why. Not my real views

howdy, so gonna be honest here, the EA one is, ok, though, I won't be completely sold until they finish up the maps for the ai, so they can release the large scale game mode, also I hate playing online with a console, so many 'You need Ps plus' or 'You need Xbox Live'

i bought the EA one and played it for few days. it is full with gamebreaking bugs.
1 major example is when u are blocking with lightsaber u have hold down the button and the animations shows that u are holding the lightsaber infront of u but u actually arent... u are not blocking anything. nor blaster fire, nor lightsaber attacks. ive seen ppl type in chat that they cant block at all... cant raise their lightsaber infront of them.
2. when audio just stops working and starts crackling.
3. sometimes when u hold down block while u are stunned and when the stun ends ur character doesnt start blocking. he just stays like u havent ever pressed the button no matter than u are holding it down. u need to release it and hold it down again few times until it starts blocking but by that time u are dead... i think the whole lightsaber blocking is hardcore bugged.
4. camera bugs sometimes. u have to die to fix it.
im sure i had few more bugs but i cant think of them right now. and yeah... need more heroes and maps and need to make the game more sandbox without million restrictions on everything... AND ♥♥♥♥ THOSE STAR CARDS AND ANAKIN!

Not to mention most of the player performance values (damage, health, etc) are client owned and therefore clients (anyone connecting to a server) can modify their performance values in game files to gain an advantage, i.e. cheating. This is in contrast to BF2 2005 where all performance values are controlled by the host.
